Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gruff Dragon (ranked 4234 p4p, 195 weight class) and Joe Slasher (ranked 7040 p4p, 245 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gruff Dragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Slasher!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slasher manages to avoid it.
Dragon is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Slasher.


It looks like Gruff Dragon has been cut.
Dragon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Slasher finds it's way round the side to connect with Dragon's head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Slasher enables Dragon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Slasher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Slasher looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Slasher wants to stand but Dragon is controlling the position.

Dragon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Slasher looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Slasher looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Slasher!

I wouldn't like to be where Dragon is right now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dragon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Dragon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Slasher quickly recovers to half guard.
Slasher looks like he's trying to stand up.

Slasher manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Slasher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dragon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Slasher has managed to get both his arms back between Dragon's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dragon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Slasher is just riding it out for now. Dragon eventually gives up the hold.

Slasher is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Dragon thows a huge punch but Slasher dodges it nicely.
Dragon wants to take a breather but Slasher is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dragon seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dragon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dragon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dragon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dragon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Slasher is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dragon has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee asks Dragon politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dragon prefers to stall for the moment though.

Dragon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Slasher's guard.
Slasher is looking to stand up but Dragon isn't so interested in that idea.

Slasher wants to get back to his feet but Dragon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gruff Dragon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gruff Dragon.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
