Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Carlitto (ranked 2109 p4p, 115 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 2415 p4p, 123 weight class). Carlitto comes to the cage accompanied by Painkiller. Diego Carlitto has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Carlitto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlitto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carlitto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lalla changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carlitto tries to avoid it but Lalla manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carlitto to the ground. Carlitto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Carlitto throws a series of punches but Lalla moves out of range. Lalla dives in for a single leg takedown but Carlitto sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lalla takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Carlitto goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Jaro Lalla has been cut. Lalla shoots in looking for a takedown. Carlitto tries to sprawl out of it but Lalla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carlitto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carlitto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Diego Carlitto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaro Lalla. Some wild striking there from Carlitto.
Lalla looking for a takedown here - he's got it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lalla thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Carlitto pulls Lalla in close to his closed guard and prevents Lalla from doing any damage or advancing position. Carlitto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carlitto in particular looking to stall. Carlitto continues to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lalla actively working from the bottom here. Carlitto controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lalla looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Carlitto trying to control the pace. Lalla looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Carlitto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lalla checks a leg kick. Lalla is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Lalla fails with a takedown attempt. Lalla shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carlitto as he jumps to the side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Carlitto misses with a series of wild punches.
Carlitto looks to land a combination but Lalla avoids it well. Lalla tries for a takedown but Carlitto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lalla closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carlitto's guard. Lalla being controlled here momentarily. Carlitto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Carlitto on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carlitto tries to get out of the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lalla is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Carlitto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jaro Lalla's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lalla darts in looking for a takedown but Carlitto gets double underhooks and turns Lalla into the cage. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Carlitto misses with a two punch combination.
Lalla shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Carlitto wants to control but Lalla is keeping busy.
Carlitto moves into full guard.
Carlitto looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Lalla drops back looking for a leg! Carlitto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carlitto manages to kick Lalla off! Lalla jumps back into Carlitto's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlitto is controlling Lalla's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlitto has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lalla has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Carlitto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Carlitto gets back to half guard. Lalla is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carlitto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lalla. Lalla is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlitto is just riding it out for now. Lalla eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Carlitto desperately trying to maintain half guard. Carlitto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lalla's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lalla's back! Carlitto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lalla can do to turn this around? Carlitto is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lalla can't escape the position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Lalla tries to escape but Carlitto has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Carlitto biding his time, controlling Lalla.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. You can see the frustration on Carlitto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Carlitto sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Carlitto wants to get back to full guard. Carlitto is controlling Lalla's trapped leg to prevent Lalla from advancing to side control. Carlitto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lalla's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lalla's back! Carlitto controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. More hug and hope from Carlitto. This is a sustained period of stalling by Carlitto.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lalla tries to roll but Carlitto sticks to his back.

And that's the end of the fight! Diego Carlitto showed his dominance in that final round. Well Carlitto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
