Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Reggie Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ozy Mandius!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mandius checks a leg kick nicely.
Mandius pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Walsh gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mandius lands a nice shot to the body.

Mandius's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ozy Mandius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Walsh is trying to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mandius pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walsh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Mandius is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mandius is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mandius is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walsh is aware though and is defending well.

Walsh drops back looking for a leg! Mandius is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mandius manages to kick Walsh off! Walsh jumps back into Mandius's guard.
Walsh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Walsh postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mandius is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Walsh, into his guard.

Walsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mandius's guard.

Mandius is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mandius is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Walsh is trying to maintain the position but Mandius is very close to passing his half guard.

Walsh is looking for a sweep. Mandius is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mandius escapes and gets back to his feet.

Mandius is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Walsh's half guard.
Mandius wants to pass to mount but Walsh is defending the position.
Mandius takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Walsh is trying to control the position but Mandius postures up.

Walsh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Walsh is breathing heavily.
Walsh trying to keep a closed guard but Mandius is proving a slippery customer.

Mandius has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Walsh is proving hard to escape from.

Mandius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walsh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mandius can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mandius stands up and waves to Walsh to follow him.

Mandius has closed the distance and engaged Walsh in a clinch.

Mandius putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Walsh in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mandius's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Walsh gets tackled into the cage by Mandius. Mandius maintains the clinch.

Mandius tightens his grip and picks Walsh up, before dumping him to the ground. Walsh manages to land in guard.

Mandius postures up and lands a big shot to Walsh's brow.
Walsh is pulling down on Mandius's head to control his posture.
Mandius slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mandius wants to pass the guard but Walsh is keeping the position.

Mandius wanted to stand there but Walsh had control of the position.

Mandius is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mandius is breathing heavily.
Walsh is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mandius stands up over Walsh, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Walsh wants to sweep but no luck.
Walsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mandius is controlling him.
Walsh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Mandius trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Walsh is pulling down on Mandius's head to control his posture.
Mandius seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Walsh slips a jab and a cross from Mandius.
Walsh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mandius jabs Walsh to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mandius manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Walsh's guard now, I'm sure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ozy Mandius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Mandius throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mandius shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Walsh is trying to defend but Mandius finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Walsh tries to roll over but Mandius keeps him under control.

Walsh blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Mandius pushes Walsh back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Mandius ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mandius no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mandius is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Walsh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well Mandius has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
