Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pat Hall (ranked 5642 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Turk (ranked 5635 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Turk!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Turk counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hall wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Turk manages to pass to side control.
Hall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Turk not doing much here.
Turk's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turk lands strikes from half guard.
Hall wants to improve his position but Turk is controlling well.
Hall blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turk.
Hall trying to control but Turk postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hall is looking to escape.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Turk lands a nice short elbow.
Turk seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Turk is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Turk sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Hall wants to get back to full guard.
Turk trying to mount his opponent but Hall defends it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Turk controlling the action here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Turk looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Turk's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hall working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Turk.
Turk tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard.
Turk sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Turk swivels and escapes.

Turk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hall is trying to stand.
Turk perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Hall taking some punishment here, with Turk in his half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Turk in particular looking to stall.
Ben Turk has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hall wants to clinch.
Hall is looking to clinch but Turk is avoiding it.

Turk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Turk lands in his opponent's guard.
Turk is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hall trying to control the position.
Turk landing with the ground and pound.
Turk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hall has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Turk has passed into side control.
Turk is staying tight to Hall's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Turk stands up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Turk takes a swing at Hall's ribcage but misses.
Hall went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Turk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Turk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Turk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall wants to get back to his feet but Turk is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ben Turk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Turk shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hall is trying to defend but Turk finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hall throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Hall wants to control but Turk is keeping busy.
Turk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Turk decides to stand and escape the position.

Turk shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hall is looking to improve his position.

Turk content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Turk slips a nice elbow through Hall's hands, connecting with Hall's forehead.


Hall is rocked!
Turk takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turk looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Turk is taking a breather. Hall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hall forces Turk back against the cage and clinches.

Turk is trying to trip Hall. He has hold of a leg but Hall is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Turk persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Turk controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Turk postures up in Hall's guard and throws a big left but Hall blocks it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Turk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ben Turk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Turk winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
