The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Smith.
Brown feints the counter takedown.
Smith shoots in and drives through. Brown sprawls well.
Brown gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Brown manages to retain guard.
Brown is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.
Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smith has gone for a leg lock! Brown slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smith's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from.
Brown is posturing up here but Smith has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Brown tries to roll out but it's too tight and Brown has to tap! Slick submission there by Smith!

Dean Smith bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
