Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Space (ranked 2140 p4p, 317 weight class) and Hans Byyler (ranked 2608 p4p, 364 weight class). Byyler is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kube - Who run it (freestyle). Hans Byyler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Space! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hans Byyler! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byyler avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Byyler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kevin Space seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Space waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Byyler. Byyler fails to land with a series of punches.
Byyler scores with a jab to the body. Space stuffs the takedown attempt from Byyler. Byyler gets slowly back to his feet. Byyler looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Space closes the distance and clinches. Byyler working aggressively here.
Space misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Byyler.
Space works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Space looking to pass the guard. Byyler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Space is controlling him. Byyler looking to control.
Space looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Byyler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Space trying to control the position from guard on top but Byyler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Space tries to free his leg and advance position but Byyler is retaining full guard. Byyler wants to stand and escape but Space is having none of it. Space stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byyler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Byyler has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Space is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Space goes for a takedown in the clinch but Byyler prevents it.

I was talking to Space's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Space is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Byyler is defending well for now. Byyler stalling in the clinch but Space improves position. Space stalling against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Byyler looks to land a combination but Space avoids it well. Space tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Byyler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Space decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Space is looking to take a break and control but Byyler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Space is working for a kimura but Byyler is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Space is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Byyler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Space. Space is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Byyler looking for submissions off his back. Space looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Space prevents Byyler from standing back up.
Space works his foot free and advances to mount. Space controlling from the full mount. Space has control of Byyler's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Byyler regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Byyler wants to control but Space is having none of it. Space wants to control the pace but Byyler is squirming around nicely. Byyler's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Space trying to control but Byyler is having none of it. Byyler wants to hold on but Space pushes him away. Space is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Byyler can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Space is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Byyler to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Byyler shrugs it off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Space dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Byyler tries to clinch but Space is having none of it. Space feinted with a counter takedown. Byyler showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Space.
Byyler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Space's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Space duly obliges. Byyler throws an overhand right that lands on Space's shoulder, as Space tries to avoid the shot. Byyler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Space as he avoids it easily. Space fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Byyler waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Space. Space closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Byyler keeps Space under control for a moment. Space looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Space wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Byyler, who protects the arm well. Space is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Byyler has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byyler prevents Space from moving into mount. Space working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Byyler is trying to buck Space off. Byyler is being controlled here. Byyler prevents Space from moving into mount. Byyler wants to get back to his feet. Space tries to advance to mount but Byyler denies him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Space tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Byyler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Space has just dragged him back down to the mat. Byyler wants to control but Space postures up. Byyler stops Space from passing to mount. Space trying to control the position but Byyler is working away. Space tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Space tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Space has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Space advances to full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Space looking to secure an arm triangle but Byyler defends it well. Byyler is in all sorts of trouble here.
Space jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Byyler manages to avoid the submission attempt. Space tries to move to mount but Byyler blocks the move with his legs. Space working away. Byyler is looking to reverse the position. Space looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Byyler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Space has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Kevin Space dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Space swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Byyler fails in his attempt to clinch. Byyler tries to close the distance and clinch but Space swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Byyler throws a sloppy head kick and Space moves out of range easily. Byyler throws a head kick but Space moves out of range.

It looks like Kevin Space has been cut. Space blocks a head kick by Byyler.
Space shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Space showed some decent athleticism there. Space is trying for a kimura here. Byyler looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Space wins by kimura!
