Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Date (ranked 1156 p4p, 140 weight class) and Dog The Multi Hunter (ranked 1248 p4p, 149 weight class). The Multi Hunter has chosen Hardwired - Metallica as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mamoru Date! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Dog The Multi Hunter! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Multi Hunter throws an overhand right that lands on Date's shoulder, as Date tries to avoid the shot. Date takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. The Multi Hunter takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The Multi Hunter drives through with a takedown into guard. The Multi Hunter advances position into side control! The Multi Hunter trying to control the action but Date is working from the bottom. Date is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Still in half guard, The Multi Hunter seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Multi Hunter wants to free his trapped foot but Date is holding on for dear life with his legs. The Multi Hunter wants to control but Date is keeping him busy. Date holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Multi Hunter looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The Multi Hunter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Date sees it coming and defends easily. The Multi Hunter prevents Date from improving his position. The Multi Hunter seems to be working for a kimura but Date defends the submission attempt. Date is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The Multi Hunter is trying to work for a kimura but Date is defending well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The Multi Hunter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Date is trying to defend but The Multi Hunter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The Multi Hunter is just content to waste time from the top position. Date takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The Multi Hunter wants to pass the guard but Date is keeping the position. Date wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Date will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The Multi Hunter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The Multi Hunter trying to move into half guard but instead Date has managed to sweep! The Multi Hunter looking for a sweep. Not yet The Multi Hunter, not yet. Date is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The Multi Hunter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Date is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Date looking to land some kicks to the body here.
The Multi Hunter throws a hook but Date avoids it easily. An inside leg kick lands from Date. The Multi Hunter connects with a crisp jab. The Multi Hunter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Date lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and The Multi Hunter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from The Multi Hunter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. The Multi Hunter connects with a solid leg kick. The Multi Hunter slips a straight right by Date. A slapping body kick lands there for Date. The Multi Hunter darts in and clinches Date up against the cage. Date throws a punch but it's blocked by The Multi Hunter. Date lands with a right to the head. A right hand to the body from The Multi Hunter.
Date swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The Multi Hunter goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Date misses with the head strike.
The Multi Hunter swings wildly with an uppercut but Date uses good head movement to avoid it. Date lands with a right to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! The Multi Hunter misses with a body punch.
A head punch on the inside from The Multi Hunter fails to land. Date tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Multi Hunter struggles to land a body shot inside as Date controls his hands.

Date is pressed up against the cage. The Multi Hunter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Date down to the mat. Date avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. The Multi Hunter with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Date throws an overhand right that lands on The Multi Hunter's shoulder, as The Multi Hunter tries to avoid the shot. Date swings for the body but The Multi Hunter moves out of range.
Date throws a hook but The Multi Hunter blocks it. Mamoru Date is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Date connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Date misses with a kick to the body.
The Multi Hunter looks to land a right hand but Date moved out of range. Date keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The Multi Hunter throws a hook to the side of Date's head but Date sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Date fires out a quick counter leg kick but The Multi Hunter just manages to avoid it. The Multi Hunter fails with a takedown attempt. Date slips under a jab. Date gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The Multi Hunter to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The Multi Hunter advances to half guard.

Date has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. The Multi Hunter is working away from the top position though. The Multi Hunter tries to pass to full mount but Date defends it. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Date regains full guard. Nicely done. Date keeping full guard, as The Multi Hunter tries to pass. The Multi Hunter wants to control from the top but Date keeps moving. The Multi Hunter pushes down on Date's leg and manages to get into half guard. Date tries to get to full guard but The Multi Hunter has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dog The Multi Hunter will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
The Multi Hunter throws a shot from downtown. Date moves away and avoids it. A chopping leg kick lands by The Multi Hunter. The Multi Hunter dodges the punch combination from Date.
Date misses with a low kick.
The Multi Hunter lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The Multi Hunter slips a jab from Date. Date pushes The Multi Hunter up against the cage in a clinch. The Multi Hunter lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Date tries to roll over but The Multi Hunter keeps him under control. The Multi Hunter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The Multi Hunter is looking for a kimura but Date is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for The Multi Hunter to get the leverage. The Multi Hunter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Date does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Date keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from The Multi Hunter. Date tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The Multi Hunter misses the shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Date changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Date misses the shot to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The Multi Hunter avoids the body shot from Date.
Date feints and then cracks The Multi Hunter's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow The Multi Hunter down. A head kick misses from Date. The Multi Hunter moves out of range of the strikes. And The Multi Hunter responds with a good body kick, but Date manages to step out the way in time. Date loads up on a big right hand but The Multi Hunter slips the punch. The Multi Hunter was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Date connects with an inside leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Date. The Multi Hunter does a little dance to reset his feet. The Multi Hunter attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. The Multi Hunter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Date throws the left hand but The Multi Hunter avoids the punch easily. The Multi Hunter needs to keep his hands up - Date had a free shot at his head there. That kick from The Multi Hunter tenderised Date's leg. Date is trying to keep his angry face on. The Multi Hunter looks to land a right hand but Date moved out of range. Date takes a swing at The Multi Hunter's ribcage but misses. Date lands a head kick!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Date moves away from the strike by The Multi Hunter. The Multi Hunter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A low kick from The Multi Hunter is predictable there and Date counters with a big head kick but The Multi Hunter shrugs it off. The Multi Hunter drives through with a takedown into guard. Date keeping moving, preventing The Multi Hunter from controlling successfully. Date is trying to keep The Multi Hunter in close.
Mamoru Date has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Multi Hunter content to stall in guard here. The Multi Hunter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Date is keeping the position for now. The Multi Hunter drops back, looking for a kneebar! Date looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Date looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Date!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Date working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Multi Hunter tries to buck Date off but Date is having none of it. The Multi Hunter trying to remain calm as Date controls from the top position. The Multi Hunter tries to improve position but can't. Date tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. The Multi Hunter tries to improve position but can't. The Multi Hunter felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Date stands up and beckons The Multi Hunter to his feet. Date fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Multi Hunter manages to avoid it.
And that's the end of the fight! Mamoru Date showed his dominance in that final round. I think The Multi Hunter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
