Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pat Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthew Murdock!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall gets caught napping as Murdock dives in and scores a takedown. Hall manages to retain guard.
Murdock slips nicely into half guard.
Murdock prevents Hall from standing back up.
Murdock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hall's head.
Hall keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Murdock is stalling here. Hall is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Murdock seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hall has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murdock can't do much from the bottom here.

Murdock is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hall off and has taken his back!
Murdock is striking from the back but Hall escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
Murdock wants to stand but Hall has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murdock is trying to work for a kimura but Hall is defending well.

Murdock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hall defends it well.
Hall is looking to improve his position.
Hall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Murdock tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hall controls his leg.

Hall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Murdock.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murdock seems to be looking for submissions.
Murdock wants to get back to his feet.

Murdock is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hall is trying to control but Murdock passes into side control!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hall being controlled for a moment.
Hall is looking for a sweep.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Murdock happy to just control the position for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Murdock drives through with a takedown into Hall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Hall has a hand on Murdock's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Murdock takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Murdock jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hall is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hall and Murdock has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Murdock tries to score with some ground and pound. Hall controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Murdock is looking to take a break and control but Hall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Murdock just content to control the position.

Hall dodges the ground and pound from Murdock.
Murdock throws a strike aimed at the side of Hall's head but Hall avoids it well.
Murdock is putting a hurting on Hall here, landing some big shots from side control.

Murdock performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Hall is looking for a sweep. Murdock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Murdock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hall is looking to get back to his feet here but Murdock is keeping cool and he's managed to take Hall's back.

Murdock keeps control of the position easily here as Hall tries to buck him off.

Matthew Murdock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hall shoots in but Murdock avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Murdock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Murdock is pushing Hall up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hall tries for a takedown. No joy.

Murdock pushes Hall off and scrambles back to his feet.

Murdock gets a clinch.
Murdock stalling against the cage.
Hall changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Murdock fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murdock decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hall pushes Murdock off and gets back to his feet.
Murdock wants to clinch up but Hall keeps it at a distance.
A quick step to the side and Hall tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Murdock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Murdock controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Murdock content to control rather than advance.
Hall regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Murdock.
Murdock is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hall is working an open guard so Murdock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Murdock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Hall was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Murdock throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Hall to counter with a crisp jab.
Murdock throws a sloppy head kick
and Hall counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Murdock thinking.

and Hall connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Murdock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Murdock fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hall sprawls well initially but Murdock persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Murdock is thwarting Hall's attempts to control the position.
Murdock tries to pass to full mount but Hall defends it.
Pat Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Matthew Murdock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Murdock stands up and beckons Hall to join him on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Matthew Murdock.
I've got Murdock winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
