Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lindsay Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus De Lind! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Lind clinches. De Lind jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stokes walks away with a smile on his face. De Lind gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. De Lind clinches with his opponent.
De Lind taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Stokes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. De Lind goes for a double leg but Stokes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stokes continues to drive forward. De Lind has Stokes up against the cage in a clinch.
De Lind scores with a shot to the side of Stokes's head. Stokes takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Lindsay Stokes has been cut. A quick uppercut on the inside from De Lind. A right hook to the body lands for De Lind.
De Lind displaying some good clinch control by pressing Stokes up against the cage. De Lind manages to break the clinch.
Marcus De Lind seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Lind clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Lind is trying to pull guard but Stokes turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Lindsay Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus De Lind. De Lind pulls guard effortlessly.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Lind looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stokes puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. De Lind wants to control but Stokes is keeping busy and won't allow it. Stokes throws a strike but De Lind avoids it easily and moves to full guard. De Lind has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stokes has passed into side control.
De Lind tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stokes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Stokes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. De Lind can't do much from the bottom here. Stokes fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Lind trying his best to control but Stokes has mounted him. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. De Lind tries to lock up and control but Stokes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. De Lind tries to reverse the position but Stokes maintains control. Stokes misses with a head shot. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Lind really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
De Lind is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. De Lind working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Stokes connects with a massive shot to the dome!
De Lind wants to hold on but Stokes pushes him away. Stokes tries to push De Lind's head away but De Lind is holding on tight. Stokes prevents De Lind from getting the reversal. Stokes thowing shots but they're missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. De Lind is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. De Lind wants to control but Stokes is having none of it. De Lind is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. De Lind is trying to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marcus De Lind will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lindsay Stokes's cut. That's time! Stokes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
De Lind fails with the takedown and Stokes counters with a straight punch to the midsection. De Lind closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. De Lind fails to pull guard.
Stokes manages to break the clinch.
De Lind falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stokes counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. De Lind looks to clinch and Stokes counters with a nice body shot. De Lind wants to clinch but Stokes slips to the side and Stokes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Stokes closes the distance and clinches. Stokes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
De Lind shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stokes counters with a stiff right hand. Lindsay Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus De Lind. De Lind moves in looking to clinch but Stokes pushes him off. Stokes throws a quick counter kick to the body but De Lind avoids it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stokes plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. De Lind gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Stokes counter with a right hand. De Lind is looking to clinch. De Lind drives through and clinches with Stokes against the cage.
De Lind lands with a right to the head. Stokes breaks from the clinch.
Stokes moves into the clinch. Stokes breaks the clinch.
Stokes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. De Lind managing to block the knees to the body from Stokes.
Stokes prevents a takedown attempt there.
De Lind scores with a nice hook to the head. De Lind escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stokes stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stokes bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Lind closes the distance and clinches. De Lind lands with a left to the head. Stokes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Stokes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stokes was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. De Lind instigates a clinch. Marcus De Lind seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. De Lind breaks the clinch.
De Lind tries to keep at a distance but Stokes has taken the fight into the clinch. Stokes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. De Lind closes the distance and clinches. Stokes manages to break the clinch.
De Lind tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stokes defends well and De Lind ends up having to push Stokes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A quick step to the side and Stokes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. De Lind throws a head kick that misses and Stokes counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. De Lind is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stokes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Stokes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. De Lind doesn't succeed with the takedown and Stokes counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps De Lind thinking. Stokes misses with a double jab.
De Lind tries to close the distance and clinch but Stokes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A quick step to the side and Stokes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Stokes tries to keep at a distance but De Lind has taken the fight into the clinch. Stokes breaks from the clinch.
Stokes misses with a wild body shot. De Lind swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. De Lind instigates a clinch. De Lind jumps guard but Stokes stands there with De Lind around his waist. De Lind gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
De Lind manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stokes throws an elbow that misses. De Lind uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stokes's guard. Nice move by De Lind! De Lind wants to control from the top but Stokes keeps moving. De Lind throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stokes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stokes trying to keep a closed guard but De Lind is proving a slippery customer.
Stokes seems keen to control De Lind's posture. Stokes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
De Lind seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Stokes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stokes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. De Lind falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stokes counters with a one-two to the body. De Lind blocks the body kick.
Stokes is looking to wear down De Lind with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. De Lind clinches with his opponent.
Stokes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. De Lind rushes Stokes with punches - Stokes moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Stokes goes down! De Lind follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
