Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo George (ranked 25365 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Dukes (ranked 6644 p4p, 0 weight class). David Dukes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bo George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Dukes!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dukes throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Dukes misses with a series of wild punches.
George could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dukes looks to throw a body kick

and George counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Dukes is trying to maintain the position but George is very close to passing his half guard.
Dukes is trying is best to control the position here.
George throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Dukes has hold of George's hands but George slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
George throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Dukes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and George counters with a slapping leg kick.
George shoots in but Dukes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
George tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dukes swivels and escapes.
Dukes throws a sloppy head kick and George moves out of range easily.
George tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dukes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten George somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bo George. That's going to take a lot out of him.
George avoids the head kick by Dukes.
George fails to land the takedown.
George takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
George lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dukes at a distance.

George closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dukes circles away.

George moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Dukes misses with a double jab
and George counters with a nice uppercut.
Dukes slaps away a takedown attempt from George, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dukes closes the distance and pushes George back into the cage.
Dukes drops down looking for an ankle pick but George pulls his leg out and moves away.

George shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dukes but Dukes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
George fails to land the takedown.

Dukes forces George back against the cage and clinches.
Dukes tries to land knees in the clinch but George avoids the damage to the body.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dukes is pressed up against the cage. George has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dukes down to the mat. Dukes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Dukes will probably get the nod.

Dukes rushes George and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dukes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. George gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Dukes throws a punch but it's blocked by George.
Dukes is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Dukes tries to land knees in the clinch but George avoids the damage to the body.

George tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dukes smiles and moves away.

and George counters with a nice body shot.

George fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dukes to the ground. George is now in Dukes's guard.
George working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dukes's head.
George postures up in Dukes's guard and throws a big left but Dukes blocks it.
George is in close to Dukes's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as George accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dukes has his foot on George's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. George works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dukes circles away from the clinch attempt.
George comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dukes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

George clinches up with Dukes and pushes him back against the cage.

George has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dukes uses from the top position.
Bo George overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

George gets a double leg takedown into Dukes's guard.
Dukes wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and George manages to pass to side control.

George not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dukes keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
George thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dukes's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

George jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dukes walks away with a smile on his face. George gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Dukes slaps away a takedown attempt from George, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dukes throws a head kick but George moves out of range.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dukes. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
George fails with an attempt to clinch.

and George counters with a head kick.

Dukes throws a sloppy head kick and George moves out of range easily.
As Dukes backs away, George returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
George blocks a head kick by Dukes.
It looked like George wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Dukes moves into the clinch.
George fails to pull guard.

Dukes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dukes is trying to control the position but George postures up.

Dukes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Dukes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. George gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
George keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dukes's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
George dives in for a single leg takedown but Dukes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
George misses with a takedown attempt - Dukes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dukes tries to score a power double leg takedown but George sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dukes somewhat.
David Dukes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
George tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dukes defends well and George ends up having to push Dukes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

David Dukes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
