Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominique Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Pacheco! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pacheco darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bell trying to hold on to Pacheco's head to control him but Pacheco postures up.
Bell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pacheco not landing any meaningful shots this time. Bell is trying to get back to full guard. Bell looking for submissions off his back. Pacheco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bell actively working from the bottom here. Pacheco trying to control from half guard but Bell is working away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've been hearing good reports from Bell's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pacheco is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bell doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pacheco. Bell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pacheco is working away from the top position though. Pacheco thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bell's head. Pacheco wants to control but Bell is keeping him busy. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bell wants to get back to full guard. Bell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pacheco is working away from the top position though. Pacheco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Pacheco dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bell misses with a takedown attempt - Pacheco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pacheco feints the counter takedown. Bell shoots in for a takedown but Pacheco shows good takedown defense. Bell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pacheco's waist but Pacheco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bell off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominique Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pacheco changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pacheco has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Pacheco closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bell quickly recovers to half guard. Pacheco seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Bell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Pacheco is trying to control. Bell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Pacheco tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bell controls his leg. Pacheco is just content to waste time from the top position. Bell takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Pacheco slips nicely into half guard.

Bell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pacheco pulls his head out easily. Pacheco prevents Bell from improving his position. Pacheco trying to control the action but Bell is working from the bottom. Bell tries to roll over but Pacheco keeps him under control. Pacheco performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pacheco won't allow Bell to sweep him here. Bell wants to improve his position but instead Pacheco has moved into half guard.
Bell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pacheco is working away from the top position though. Bell is defending against the submission attempts here by Pacheco.

Pacheco is sitting in close to Bell's body. Bell has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pacheco is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pacheco is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bell.
