The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Erol counters with an outside leg kick.
Erol fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Erol moves into range and clinches up with Turner.
Turner has Erol pressed against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Turner is nestled in close to Erol, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Turner is just content to waste time from the top position. Erol takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We've been informed that Erol has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Erol wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Turner, who protects the arm well.

Erol is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Turner looks calm but he's in trouble here. Erol gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Turner is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Erol lets go of the hold and Turner can pop his arm back in it's socket.
