Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Workman (ranked 25091 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bloody Nine (ranked 5537 p4p, 0 weight class). Bloody Nine will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Workman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bloody Nine! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Workman was well out of range. Poor timing from Nine. Nine misses with a kick to the body and Workman counters with a takedown into side control. Workman decides to take the fight back to the feet. Nine misses with a body punch
and Workman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Workman blocks a body shot from Nine. Workman avoiding damage.
Nine goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nice body punch from Nine - that landed with a thud.
Nine controlling the action here for a moment.
Nine tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Workman avoids it. Workman blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Workman goes for a takedown attempt but Nine pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Workman drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Workman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Workman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Workman stands and steps away. Nine gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nine will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nine scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A nice inside leg kick there by Nine. That's going to slow Workman down. Nine thuds a left hand into Workman's body. Nine fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Workman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Workman avoids the body shot from Nine.
Workman feinted with a counter takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Workman crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nine - the referee stops the clock and Workman gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nine. Workman manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nine throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Nine is looking to land body kicks. An attempted straight right counter from Workman misses the target. Nine comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Workman fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Workman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A looping hook to the body misses from Nine. Workman does a little dance to reset his feet. Bloody Nine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nine scores with a spinning back kick! A good leg kick by Nine. Nine swings and misses with a shot to the body and Workman counters with a shoot takedown. Nine fights it but they end up in guard. Workman is breathing heavily. Nine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Workman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Workman gets to his feet. Nine looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Nine swings for the body but Workman moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nine looks to throw a body kick and Workman counters with a single leg into guard. Nine didn't expect that. Workman controlling from the top position. Nine controls Workman momentarily but Workman frees himself. Workman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Nine misses with a leg kick and Workman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Workman. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Workman has gone for a leg lock! Nine slips out almost immediately though and dives into Workman's guard. Workman is looking to stand back up but Nine counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Workman. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bloody Nine dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nine closes the distance and clinches. Nine tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Workman avoids it. Nine manages to break the clinch.
Nine misses with a looping left. Workman is looking to counter the offense by Nine and move into the clinch. Nine misses with a shot to the body and Workman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Workman takes a shot right to the bread basket. Workman blocks a head kick by Nine.
Joey Workman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Workman moves out of range of the body kick from Nine.
Nine lands with a nice body kick. Nine connects with a body shot. Nine closes the distance and clinches. Nine has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nine lands with a left to the head. Workman is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Workman prevents a body shot from Nine. Workman is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nine is keeping busy. A bit of stalling here from Nine.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Workman wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nine stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Workman tries to pull guard but Nine holds him up against the cage and eventually Workman drops back down to his feet.
Workman wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nine has him pressed against the cage. Nine displaying some good clinch control by pressing Workman up against the cage. Workman pulls guard. Nine is fighting to break Workman's control of his arms but Workman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Workman wants to sweep but no luck. Workman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nine is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Workman is pulling down on Nine's head to control his posture. Nine not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Workman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nine manages to get himself to full guard.
Workman gets to his feet - Nine follows without any prompting. Workman tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Workman fails to land the takedown.

Nine punishes Workman's body with a nice straight punch. Nine misses with a kick to the body and Workman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Workman escapes and gets back to his feet. Nine misses with an attempted mid kick.
Workman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nine sprawls and moves away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nine swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nine looks for the body kick but Workman saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bloody Nine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Nine tries to land a front kick but Workman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nine waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Workman. A lazy body kick from Nine and Workman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nine scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Nine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Workman moves away. Nine throws an overhand right that lands on Workman's shoulder, as Workman tries to avoid the shot. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Nine. Workman shrugs it off though. Nine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A punch combination from Nine misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nine looks to land a body kick but Workman moved away. Workman is looking to counter the offense by Nine and move into the clinch. Workman will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Nine lands with a good body shot. Nine misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Workman.
Workman appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Workman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nine misses with a low kick as Workman jumps back. Workman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Workman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Nine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bloody Nine seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Workman prevents a body shot from Nine. Nine misses with a hook to the ribs.

Nine misses with a wild body shot. Workman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nine fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Nice defenses there by Workman. Workman half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Workman scores with a takedown into Nine's guard. Nine uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Workman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nine's guard. Nine is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Workman dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nine taking punishment in the form of punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Nine's face as Workman controls the position. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Nine. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Workman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Workman has a takedown stuffed. Nine counters with a body kick. Nine throws a poor cross that misses
and Workman moves into the clinch. Workman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nine avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Workman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Workman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nine to keep the fight standing. Nine lands a nice knee to the body. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Nine avoiding damage.
Nine receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Workman tries to pull guard but Nine forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Good body shot from Nine.
Nine tries a body shot but Workman blocks it.
Nine is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Come on Nine - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
And that's the end of the fight! Bloody Nine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Nine winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
