Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yang Xinhai (ranked 878 p4p, 43 weight class) and Oskar Friman (ranked 619 p4p, 28 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Yang Xinhai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oskar Friman! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the body from Xinhai misses and Friman counters with a takedown into side control. Xinhai pushes Friman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Friman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Friman misses with the ground and pound. Friman tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Friman is chipping away with strikes.
Xinhai is trying to buck Friman off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Friman throwing shots but missing, from side control. Friman working the ground and pound but Xinhai is defending the strikes. Friman trying to control the action but Xinhai is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friman in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. An elbow from Friman crashes against the mat.
Xinhai is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Friman has just dragged him back down to the mat. Friman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Xinhai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Oskar Friman dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Friman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Xinhai doesn't seem bothered though. Xinhai lands a lovely overhand right. Oskar Friman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Xinhai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Xinhai wants it to stay on the feet. Friman swings away with a body shot that misses

Friman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Xinhai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Friman misses the shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Friman lands a nice hook to Xinhai's body. Xinhai takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Xinhai works Friman's body with a nice hook. Xinhai throws a big shot that misses. Friman shoots in and bounces Xinhai off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Xinhai keeping moving, preventing Friman from controlling successfully. Friman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Friman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Oskar Friman has got the better of the ground game so far. Xinhai avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Xinhai utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Friman with a flurry of punches that miss. Xinhai working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Friman. Friman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Friman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Xinhai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Friman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Xinhai tries to kick Friman off but Friman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Friman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Friman slows the pace down in half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Friman lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Xinhai hang on? Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Friman raining down hammerfists from mount. Friman is in the full mount, landing strikes. Xinhai is bucking up trying to escape but Friman cracks him with another couple of good strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oskar Friman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The fighters circle momentarily. Friman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Friman misses with a takedown and Xinhai counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Friman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Friman. Nice sprawl there from Xinhai as Friman shoots in. Yang Xinhai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oskar Friman. Friman just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Friman. Xinhai does a little dance to reset his feet. An attempted straight right counter from Xinhai misses the target. Yang Xinhai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Xinhai throws a good cross that connects.
Friman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Friman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Xinhai slips a straight right by Friman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Friman scores with a jab to the jaw. Xinhai throws a jab when Friman was well out of range. Friman is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Xinhai rather than just go for the knockout. Friman slips under a jab. Friman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Xinhai stuns Friman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Friman ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Friman misses with a looping left. Friman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Xinhai manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Friman with a nice head shot there. Friman stands up over Xinhai, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friman stops Xinhai from standing up. Friman with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Xinhai avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Friman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Friman trying to control the position from guard on top but Xinhai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Friman throwing strikes from guard but Xinhai blocks nicely. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Friman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Friman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Yang Xinhai has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Xinhai ducks under a wild hook from Friman.
And that's the end of the fight! Oskar Friman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Friman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
