Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Reijo Halli (ranked 5541 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fritz Haarmann (ranked 6181 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reijo Halli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fritz Haarmann! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Haarmann uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Halli. Haarmann ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Haarmann uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Halli. Halli tries to clinch but fails miserably and Haarmann counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Halli! Haarmann looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haarmann thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halli is looking to reverse the position. Halli gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Haarmann is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Halli defends it well. Haarmann moves nicely into side control. Halli sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Haarmann is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Haarmann wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Haarmann moves to the back. Haarmann looking for the choke but no joy. Halli is trying to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haarmann doesn't have the hooks in and Halli manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Halli slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Halli tries to move to mount but Haarmann blocks the move with his legs. Haarmann is looking to regain half guard here but Halli keeps moving and retains side control. Halli has control of an arm but Haarmann manages to advance to Halli's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haarmann is hanging on to Halli's back as he tries to escape.

Halli rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Haarmann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Haarmann tries to pass to full mount but Halli defends it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Haarmann looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fritz Haarmann dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Haarmann avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Haarmann has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Halli closes the distance but Haarmann moves to the side and Haarmann counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Halli wants to get back to full guard. Halli slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haarmann drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Halli manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Haarmann has Halli in his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Haarmann prevents Halli from taking his back. Haarmann is squirming around, avoiding Halli's attempts to control the action. Haarmann prevents any damage by holding on tight. Halli can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Haarmann is looking to escape. Haarmann can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Halli fails to advance to Haarmann's back. Haarmann regains half guard. Haarmann looking for submissions off his back. Halli is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Haarmann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Halli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Halli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That was a close second round but I would say that Reijo Halli will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
A big right from Halli misses. Haarmann feints the counter takedown. Halli wants to clinch up but Haarmann keeps it at a distance. Haarmann is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Halli throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Haarmann drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Halli defends it well. Halli throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Haarmann tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Halli misses with a lunging right hand
and Haarmann counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Haarmann is trying to work for a kimura but Halli is defending well.

Halli works his way to full guard. Good work. Halli has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Haarmann has passed into side control.
Halli tries to bench press Haarmann off him but Haarmann keeps the position. Halli sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Halli is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Haarmann's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Haarmann's back! Halli is looking for the choke from the back position but Haarmann is controlling his hands well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haarmann rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Haarmann is looking for a sweep. Halli is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Halli is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Haarmann keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Haarmann is trying to escape the mount but Halli keeps good control and instead manages to take Haarmann's back.
Haarmann has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Halli. Haarmann trying to control but not successfully. Halli looking for the RNC. Haarmann manages to reverse the position and now he's in Halli's guard. Nice work there by Haarmann.
