Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ivan Smirnov (ranked 4441 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Valur (ranked 4105 p4p, 458 weight class). Valur has chosen David Bowie - Let's Dance as his entrance music. Gilbert Valur is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Ivan Smirnov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 4 losses; Gilbert Valur!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.

Valur closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smirnov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Valur gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Valur has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smirnov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smirnov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smirnov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Valur looking for a guillotine here but Smirnov defends easily.

Valur is looking for a triangle but Smirnov pushes his legs off easily.

Valur is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smirnov is aware though and is defending well.
Valur wants to sweep here but Smirnov controlling him for the moment.

Valur escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smirnov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Valur working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smirnov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smirnov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Valur trying to keep a closed guard but Smirnov is proving a slippery customer.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Valur is on top in guard.

Valur seems to be working for a kimura but Smirnov defends the submission attempt.

Valur is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Smirnov has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Valur. Oh but Smirnov has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Valur goes limp - he's gone! Smirnov jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
