Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ma Moru (ranked 3432 p4p, 267 weight class) and Walter Flanagan (ranked 5048 p4p, 343 weight class). Moru comes to the cage accompanied by slam dunk opening theme song. Flanagan has chosen The Wizard as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Walter Flanagan!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flanagan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Moru swinging wildly here.
Moru turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Flanagan darts in and clinches Moru up against the cage.
Moru scores a nice knee to the body.
Moru lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Walter Flanagan has been cut.
Flanagan can't find room to land a body shot as Moru controls the action.
Moru utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Flanagan throws a punch but it's blocked by Moru.
Moru goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Moru escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Moru looks to land a body kick but Flanagan moved away.

Moru looks to score with a jab to the body but Flanagan is just out of range.

Flanagan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Moru buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Moru misses with a jab to the body
and Flanagan counters with a series of strikes. Moru will be more careful next time no doubt.
Moru misses with a low kick as Flanagan jumps back.
Ma Moru seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moru misses with an uppercut.
And Flanagan tries to counter it with a takedown but Moru pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Moru wants to land a leg kick but Flanagan is out of range.
A clash of legs there as Flanagan blocks the low kick.
Flanagan avoids the body shot from Moru.
Moru takes a swing at Flanagan's ribcage but misses.
Moru throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A looping hook to the body misses from Moru. Flanagan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Moru throws a body shot but no joy.
Moru throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Good leg kick by Moru there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moru lands a leg kick that knocks Flanagan off balance momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flanagan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Moru.
Moru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Flanagan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Flanagan moves out of range of the body kick.
Flanagan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Moru tries to throw a body punch but Flanagan avoids it by throwing Moru back against the cage.

Moru swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Flanagan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Moru tries to work over Flanagan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Flanagan lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Moru tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Flanagan avoids it.
Flanagan lands a right hand.
Flanagan scores with a shoulder strike.
Moru stalling the fight.
Flanagan lands an uppercut.
Flanagan tries to throw a body punch but Moru avoids it by throwing Flanagan back against the cage.
Flanagan lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Moru or not.
Moru throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Flanagan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Moru swings wildly with an uppercut but Flanagan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Moru is trying to break free.
Flanagan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Moru has had enough of the clinch but Flanagan keeps him there for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knees in the clinch landing for Moru.
The referee calls for Moru to work.
Flanagan struggles to land a body shot inside as Moru controls his hands.
Flanagan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Moru can't fight it off and eventually Flanagan manages to take the fight to the floor. Moru looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Flanagan told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Flanagan wants to pass the guard but Moru is keeping the position.
Flanagan stands up over Moru, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Moru looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Flanagan is defending well. Moru quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Flanagan has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Moru celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ma Moru!
As Ma Moru got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Anata wa watashi o korosu koto wa
dekimasen'.
