Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between George Red (ranked 2075 p4p, 184 weight class) and Moses Makwame (ranked 5936 p4p, 372 weight class). Makwame is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by House of Pain - Jump Around. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Moses Makwame enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Red! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Moses Makwame! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Makwame as he avoids it easily. Makwame wants to clinch up but Red keeps it at a distance. Makwame throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Red forces Makwame back against the cage and clinches. The referee calls for Red to work.
Makwame lands a nice elbow.
It looks like George Red has been cut. Red blocking some punches.
Makwame gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Red slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Red striking off his back but it's not causing Makwame any problems. Red thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Red is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Red trying to control the position here. Makwame must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Red's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Red is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Makwame wants to control from the top but Red keeps moving. Makwame is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Makwame wants to control from the top but Red keeps moving. Makwame really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Red. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Red seems keen to control Makwame's posture. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Makwame can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Red working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Makwame doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Makwame manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Makwame avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Makwame thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

You can't force these things though and Makwame defends well. Red is trying to control the position but Makwame postures up. Makwame has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Holding Cell. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Makwame content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Red has locked up a guillotine! Red's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Makwame is holding on here and Red must be using up a lot of energy. Makwame has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Red gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). George Red! George Red spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. In defeat, Moses Makwame stepped up to the mic, saying 'The strongest man won today.'.
