The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson jabs Lopette to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Anderson throws a jab when Lopette was well out of range.
Lopette misses with an uppercut. Anderson saw that one coming.

Anderson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lopette stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bornas Lopette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Anderson lands a really nice looking cross but Lopette seems unphased.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lopette lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Anderson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Anderson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Anderson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lopette. That one must have hurt.

Anderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lopette circles away quickly and effectively.

Anderson darts in and clinches Lopette up against the cage.
Lopette pushes off an throws an elbow but Anderson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Anderson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lopette takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lopette's corner calls for a 1-2. Lopette obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Anderson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Lopette throws a leg kick
and Anderson counters with a three punch combo that has Lopette backing up. Lopette nods at Anderson to acknowledge the strikes.
Lopette loads up on a big right hand but Anderson slips the punch.
Anderson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lopette throws a looping overhand right but Anderson ducks down to avoid it.
A lazy left from Anderson finds it's target.
A jab from Lopette misses.
Anderson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lopette has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Lopette fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anderson manages to avoid it.
Anderson looks to score with a jab to the body but Lopette is just out of range.
Lopette wants to slow Anderson down by chopping away at his legs.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Anderson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
