Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Trumpet (ranked 4279 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Fitzgerald (ranked 4511 p4p, 0 weight class). Trumpet comes into the arena with For Heavy Metal we will die! blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Trumpet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Fitzgerald!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzgerald wants to clinch but Trumpet slips to the side
and Trumpet counters with a nice uppercut.
Trumpet getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Trumpet throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Don Fitzgerald has been cut.
Fitzgerald uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Trumpet.
Trumpet displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fitzgerald throws out the jab.
An attempted straight right counter from Trumpet misses the target.
A telegraphed right hand from Fitzgerald misses the target.
Trumpet avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Trumpet, as that shot connected.
Nice defenses there by Fitzgerald.
Trumpet misses with a looping left.
Trumpet lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Trumpet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trumpet dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Trumpet scores with a shot to the body.

Fitzgerald gets a clinch.

Trumpet escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Trumpet sizes up Fitzgerald with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Trumpet bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Trumpet connects with a body shot.
Trumpet slips under a jab from Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald misses with a few strikes there.
Fitzgerald fails to land with a series of punches.
Trumpet appears to be looking for a big counter.
Fitzgerald throws an off balance right hand
and Trumpet counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fitzgerald takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nice defenses there by Trumpet.
Trumpet lands a jab to Fitzgerald's midsection.
Fitzgerald misses with the combination.
Fitzgerald takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fitzgerald takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Trumpet scores with a nice right hand.
Fitzgerald waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Trumpet.
Trumpet defending well as Fitzgerald loads up on a big left hand.
Trumpet throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fitzgerald stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fitzgerald with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Trumpet to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fitzgerald is rocked!


That has opened up Don Fitzgerald's cut even more.
Trumpet drops Fitzgerald with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Fitzgerald! Trumpet dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald Trumpet!
Donald Trumpet decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
