Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ludwig Mandrill (ranked 2999 p4p, 262 weight class) and Dwight Schrute (ranked 3449 p4p, 277 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ludwig Mandrill! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dwight Schrute! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schrute throws a right and a left that Mandrill avoids nicely. Mandrill dives in for a single leg takedown but Schrute sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Schrute throws the left hand but Mandrill avoids the punch easily. Mandrill shoots in but Schrute avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mandrill gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Mandrill on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Mandrill looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mandrill will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ludwig Mandrill. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schrute gets off balance looking for a body kick and Mandrill counters with a takedown into side control. Mandrill lands a nice forearm strike. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mandrill misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Schrute is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schrute is looking for a sweep. Mandrill is working Schrute over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mandrill is trying to get an arm triangle but Schrute is defending well. Mandrill scores with punches from side control. Mandrill working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Schrute tries to improve position but can't. Mandrill controlling from side mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mandrill throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Schrute works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Mandrill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Schrute defending well though. Schrute taking some punishment here, with Mandrill in his half guard. Mandrill working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Schrute slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mandrill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schrute utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Schrute being controlled here, momentarily. Schrute working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mandrill. Mandrill controlling from the top position. Mandrill postures up in Schrute's guard and throws a big left but Schrute blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mandrill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mandrill is looking to work some ground and pound but Schrute has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mandrill with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Mandrill working some strikes from top position. Mandrill engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Schrute is trying to control the position but Mandrill postures up. Mandrill content to stall in guard here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mandrill stopping the sweep attempt from Schrute.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ludwig Mandrill dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mandrill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mandrill lands in his opponent's guard. Schrute manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mandrill manages to get himself to full guard.
Mandrill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Schrute can do to turn this around? Mandrill has Schrute pulled in close to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schrute postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mandrill working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schrute doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schrute manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Schrute won't allow Mandrill to sweep him here. Mandrill looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Schrute puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Mandrill keeps control of the position for the meantime. Mandrill is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mandrill tries to get back to half guard but can't. Schrute is looking to take a break and control but Mandrill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ludwig Mandrill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mandrill is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mandrill is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Schrute off and has taken his back!

Mandrill is riding his opponent, not letting Schrute buck him off. Mandrill lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Schrute hold on?!
Schrute is covering up but some of the strikes from Mandrill are getting through and doing damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mandrill is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mandrill gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mandrill gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mandrill apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Schrute tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mandrill was well out of range. Poor timing from Schrute. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mandrill scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Mandrill or perhaps it was just good defense by Schrute, which made it look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Donk. Schrute catches Mandrill right on the button with a cross. Mandrill avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Schrute misses with a few strikes there.

Schrute gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Schrute can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mandrill controls the pace. Mandrill lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mandrill in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mandrill trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

There ya go! There ya go! Mandrill throws a big right hand that misses. Schrute has momentary wrist control but Mandrill slips an elbow through the middle. Mandrill stays in close to Schrute's body and controls the position. Mandrill postures up in Schrute's guard and throws a big left but Schrute blocks it.

Mandrill is looking to work some ground and pound but Schrute has wrist control. Mandrill is pushing down on Schrute's leg trying to pass to half guard. Schrute is fighting to maintain full guard but Mandrill has managed to sneak the leg through. Mandrill lands strikes from half guard. Ludwig Mandrill clearly takes that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nice defenses there by Mandrill. A shot to the liver by Schrute. Beautiful body shot. Schrute misses with a two punch combination.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mandrill takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Mandrill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schrute pinned against the cage. Schrute gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Schrute misses with a wild body shot.

Nice cross by Schrute. Mandrill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schrute is on top in guard.
Mandrill has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Schrute doesn't defend quickly enough and Mandrill has managed to lock this one up! Can Schrute escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mandrill on a fantastic submission victory.
