Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisy McLaughlin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chok Delarock! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crunch! McLaughlin slams his shin into Delarock's torso. McLaughlin clinches with his opponent.
Delarock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McLaughlin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. McLaughlin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Delarock looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McLaughlin misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McLaughlin tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. McLaughlin breaks the clinch.
McLaughlin tries to close the distance and clinch but Delarock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McLaughlin scoring well with a low kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delarock throws a low kick but McLaughlin avoids it. McLaughlin thuds his shin into the meat of Delarock's side. McLaughlin scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Delarock. McLaughlin does a little dance to reset his feet. McLaughlin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. McLaughlin moves in looking to clinch but Delarock pushes him off. Delarock feints a counter leg kick. McLaughlin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
McLaughlin ducks under a wild hook from Delarock. As Delarock tries to get set, McLaughlin tries to push him back and clinch up but Delarock manages to avoid the attempt. Delarock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McLaughlin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delarock takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Delarock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McLaughlin manages to avoid it. McLaughlin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. McLaughlin checks a leg kick nicely. It looked like McLaughlin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. McLaughlin tries to clinch there but Delarock circles away.
McLaughlin rushes Delarock and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McLaughlin tries to stall but Delarock uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
McLaughlin tries to land knees in the clinch but Delarock avoids the damage to the body. Delarock decides to pull guard. Delarock is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but McLaughlin frees his head nicely. Oh but Delarock has switched to an armbar! McLaughlin is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Chok Delarock! A relieved looking Chok Delarock thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
