Kaan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Solid Steel. Work is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sweet Home Alabama. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anubis Kaan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Aaron Work!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Work takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Nice shot lands for Kaan.
Kaan throws a jab when Work was well out of range.

Kaan pushes Work up against the cage in a clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Work has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kaan working aggressively here.
Kaan misses with a punch on the inside.
Work is trying to break free.
Kaan lands a left hand that snaps the head of Work backwards.
Kaan misses with a hook from the clinch.
Kaan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kaan lands an uppercut.
Kaan lands an uppercut.
Kaan misses with a short punch on the inside.
A short right from Kaan.

Kaan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Work slips a jab from Kaan.
Kaan throws a jab but it's blocked by Work.

Both fighters circling a little - Kaan finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Work uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kaan.
Work throws a counter combo.
Kaan slips under a jab from Work.

Kaan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Work has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kaan lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Kaan lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Kaan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Work's efforts to push away.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kaan.
Kaan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Work backwards.
Kaan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kaan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kaan lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Kaan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Work throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Kaan darts in and clinches Work up against the cage.
A shot in the inside from Kaan.
A short right from Kaan on the inside.
Work prevents a body shot from Kaan.
Kaan working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Work is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Kaan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kaan misses with a punch to the body.
Work wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Work wants to break free but Kaan has control.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kaan.

Kaan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kaan lands a nice looking body kick.
Work looks winded!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kaan misses with a wild body shot.
Work misses with a leg kick
and Kaan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Work avoids the body shot from Kaan.
Kaan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Work. Work circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


Work is rocked!
Kaan connects with a looping right hand.
Work is still on wobbly legs! Can Kaan finish him?
A nice leg kick lands there from Kaan.
Kaan drops Work with a naaaaasty hook - Work is in real trouble here! Kaan dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anubis Kaan!
A very excited looking Anubis Kaan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Aaron Work was interviewed post fight and said 'I am sorry for all those I disappointed tonight, I love all the fans that have come out too watch me tonight, however I will come back from this, faster, stronger and trust me better. This is a learning curve for me that I will bounce back from mark my words. Again, thank you for everything though. '.
