Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Adriano Valerio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Bruzzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valerio comes into the arena with Story of the Year - Until the day I die blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adriano Valerio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Bruzzi! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valerio walks into a stiff left hand from Bruzzi. Bruzzi dodges the punch combination from Valerio.

Bruzzi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valerio circles away. Valerio shoots in but Bruzzi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Valerio doesn't manage to clinch there - Bruzzi circles away.
Valerio is looking to clinch. Bruzzi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Valerio controls Bruzzi momentarily but Bruzzi frees himself. Valerio working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bruzzi has passed into half guard!

That's one minute gone in the round. Valerio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bruzzi is working for a kimura but Valerio is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are battling for position here. Valerio manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Valerio has control of Bruzzi's left arm, preventing Bruzzi from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bruzzi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bruzzi slips nicely into half guard. Bruzzi is looking for a kimura here.
Bruzzi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Valerio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bruzzi. Bruzzi looks gassed! Valerio trying to hold on to Bruzzi's head to control him but Bruzzi postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruzzi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bruzzi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Felipe Bruzzi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Valerio doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Bruzzi counter with a right hand. Valerio fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Valerio fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adriano Valerio. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bruzzi scores with a hook to the body. Valerio takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bruzzi misses with the combination.

Bruzzi wants to clinch up but Valerio keeps it at a distance. Bruzzi lands an overhand right. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Valerio shoots in for a double leg but Bruzzi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bruzzi is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Bruzzi wants to clinch but Valerio slips to the side and Valerio counters with a big head kick but Bruzzi shrugs it off. Valerio takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Bruzzi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bruzzi cracks a nice hook into Valerio's ribs. A punch combination from Bruzzi misses. Valerio showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bruzzi.

Bruzzi lunges at Valerio with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Valerio's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valerio takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Adriano Valerio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bruzzi misses with a jab, cross combination.

Bruzzi throws a nice looking combination but Valerio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A left and a right from Bruzzi both land. Nice combination. Bruzzi is looking to clinch. Bruzzi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valerio. Bruzzi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Bruzzi throws a right hand that Valerio ducks under and follows up with a left that Valerio also avoids with ease. Bruzzi lands with a right hand. Bruzzi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Valerio trying to control the position from guard on top but Bruzzi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valerio's corner is telling him to maintain position. Bruzzi working for a triangle but Valerio defends it easily.
Valerio works over Bruzzi with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valerio won't allow Bruzzi to sweep him here. Valerio has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Valerio trying to control but Bruzzi is working from the bottom. Valerio wanted to stand there but Bruzzi had control of the position. Valerio wants to control from the top but Bruzzi keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Felipe Bruzzi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Bruzzi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Valerio moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Valerio jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Valerio misses with a takedown attempt - Bruzzi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A nice combination there by Bruzzi.
Bruzzi lands a with a good body shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bruzzi shoots for a takedown but Valerio saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bruzzi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bruzzi lands a two punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruzzi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valerio circles away quickly and effectively. Bruzzi throws a nice looking combination but Valerio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Valerio shoots in for a takedown but Bruzzi shows good takedown defense. Valerio takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Valerio shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bruzzi as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adriano Valerio. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bruzzi gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bruzzi stalls. Valerio has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bruzzi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bruzzi drags the fight down to the ground.
Valerio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Valerio wants to control from the top but Bruzzi keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruzzi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valerio manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valerio throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Valerio gets back to half guard. Valerio is looking for a sweep. Bruzzi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Valerio tries to kick Bruzzi off but Bruzzi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Bruzzi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valerio is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Valerio misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Felipe Bruzzi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bruzzi is thwarting Valerio's attempts to control the position. Valerio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bruzzi trying to control the action but Valerio is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bruzzi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that's the end of the fight! Felipe Bruzzi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bruzzi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
