Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Spears (ranked 6260 p4p, 0 weight class) and True Gee (ranked 7004 p4p, 0 weight class). True Gee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Spears! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, True Gee! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spears keeps the fight on the outside. Gee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spears sprawls well. Spears wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gee gets slowly back to his feet. Spears gets a clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Spears throws an elbow but misses. Spears tries to land a knee to the head but Gee blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spears prevents Gee from breaking the clinch. Gee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Spears tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Gee's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. True Gee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gee blocks a head kick by Spears.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Gee. Gee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spears is fending him off so far but Gee persists. Nope, Spears circles away and we're back to standing. Spears could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gee tries to clinch but Spears moves out of range. Spears went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Gee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spears sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gee somewhat. As Gee looks to move away, Spears throws a big counter combo but Gee just gets out of the way. Bruce Spears has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of True Gee. Spears gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gee to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gee wants to control from the top but Spears keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spears has his foot on Gee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gee works his way back into a safe position though. Spears is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Spears has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spears is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gee is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gee gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. No luck for Gee with that takedown attempt. Spears went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Spears avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Spears stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spears wants it to stay on the feet. A low kick from Gee is predictable there and Spears decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gee's guard. Gee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Spears wanted to stand there but Gee had control of the position. Spears postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spears with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Spears's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gee wants to sweep but no luck. Spears cracks Gee with a solid left hand. Spears keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gee's head. Spears distracts Gee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Gee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gee looks winded! Gee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Spears keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gee's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spears lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spears stands up and waves to Gee to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spears gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No luck for Gee with that takedown attempt. Spears doesn't manage to clinch there - Gee circles away.

Gee doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spears counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Gee lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spears defends it nicely. Gee shoots for a double leg takedown but Spears sprawls well. He's pushed Gee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gee wants to clinch and Spears counters with a left and a right that stings Gee. Gee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Spears is doing well to control the position and prevent Gee from advancing to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spears might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gee stops Spears from getting back to his feet.
Spears desperately trying to maintain half guard. Spears is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gee pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spears is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gee looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gee moves into the clinch successfully.
Spears jumps guard but Gee turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Gee tries to pull guard but Spears holds him up against the cage and eventually Gee drops back down to his feet.
Spears blocks an elbow strike from Gee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gee fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spears smiles and moves away.
Spears rushes Gee and presses him up against the cage. Spears breaks the clinch.

Spears pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spears wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gee is now in half guard. Spears looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. This has been an exciting period of action! Gee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spears has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gee has managed to get both his arms back between Spears's legs - danger averted. Gee being controlled here momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spears tries to land a sweep but no joy.
