Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rae Fon (ranked 1555 p4p, 201 weight class) and Jouko Juntti (ranked 3567 p4p, 405 weight class). Fon's entrance music is Kojak Theme. A fine choice. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jouko Juntti was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rae Fon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jouko Juntti! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fon tries to clinch up. Fon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Fon gets a double leg takedown into Juntti's guard. Juntti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Juntti is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fon, into his guard. Fon is trying to control the position but Juntti postures up. Fon seems keen to control Juntti's posture. Juntti wants to control from the top but Fon keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Juntti is fighting to break Fon's control of his arms but Fon is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Juntti showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Juntti preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Fon wants to sweep but no luck. Fon trying to keep a closed guard but Juntti is proving a slippery customer.
Juntti is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Juntti would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Fon looking for a sweep. Not yet Fon, not yet. Fon has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Juntti postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Juntti's guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Juntti is adopting a defensive guard. Fon throws a strike but Juntti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Juntti postures up in Fon's guard and throws a big left but Fon blocks it. Fon is pulling down on Juntti's head to control his posture. Juntti preventing the sweep. Juntti stands up over Fon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fon is controlling Juntti's posture. Juntti lands a couple of digs. Fon is trying to keep Juntti in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Juntti is working Fon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Fon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Juntti has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Fon has his hands on Juntti's head, controlling the position. Juntti chips away with some ground and pound. Fon is pulling down on Juntti's head to control his posture. Juntti landing some decent shots from guard. Fon wants to sweep here but Juntti controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fon controls Juntti momentarily but Juntti frees himself. Fon keeping moving, preventing Juntti from controlling successfully. Fon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Juntti gets full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Juntti trying to control the position.

A close round but Jouko Juntti will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Fon wants to clinch up but Juntti keeps it at a distance. Juntti tries to keep at a distance but Fon has taken the fight into the clinch. Fon throws a punch but it's blocked by Juntti. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fon. Fon throws a punch but it's blocked by Juntti. Juntti tries to pull guard but Fon won't allow it.

Fon looks to throw an elbow but misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Juntti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rae Fon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fon drives through and clinches with Juntti against the cage.
Juntti wants to break free but Fon has control.
Fon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Juntti avoids it. Fon throws a punch but it's blocked by Juntti. Juntti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fon tries to sprawl but Juntti drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fon wants to improve his position but Juntti is controlling well.
Fon is looking to control Juntti's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fon avoid being mounted? Fon tries to roll over but Juntti keeps him under control. Nice strikes from Juntti there. Fon works his way to full guard. Good work. Fon is trying to keep Juntti in close.

Fon controls Juntti momentarily but Juntti frees himself. Juntti pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fon is keeping the position for now. Fon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fon holds on and takes a little breather. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Juntti with a nice head shot there. Fon working a defensive guard here.
Fon is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fon looking for a sweep. Not yet Fon, not yet. Fon is working hard here to advance position. Juntti tries to free his leg and advance position but Fon is retaining full guard. Fon working a defensive guard here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fon closes the distance and pushes Juntti back into the cage. Fon softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Juntti has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fon uses from the top position. Juntti wants to stand but Fon is controlling the position. Juntti avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Juntti working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fon. Fon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Juntti looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Fon is defending well. Juntti quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Fon has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Juntti celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
