Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaz McStafferson (ranked 684 p4p, 97 weight class) and Arthur Menezes (ranked 559 p4p, 83 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kaz McStafferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Menezes!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McStafferson has a takedown stuffed.

McStafferson shoots in for a double leg but Menezes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Menezes lands a nice hook to McStafferson's body. McStafferson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McStafferson.

McStafferson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Menezes pinned against the cage. Menezes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McStafferson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

McStafferson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Menezes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McStafferson has managed to get both his arms back between Menezes's legs - danger averted.

McStafferson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McStafferson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McStafferson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Menezes as he jumps to the side.
And Menezes tries to counter it with a takedown but McStafferson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Menezes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

McStafferson tries to move into range but Menezes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

McStafferson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Menezes did well to prevent McStafferson getting side control.
McStafferson thows a huge punch but Menezes dodges it nicely.
McStafferson wants to free his trapped foot but Menezes is holding on for dear life with his legs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing good reports from McStafferson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Menezes connects with a nice short shot to McStafferson's temple.

Well Menezes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
