Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Murphy (ranked 21 p4p, 2 weight class) and Three Dog (ranked 25 p4p, 3 weight class). Dog has chosen Fallout as his entrance music. Mick Murphy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Three Dog's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Three Dog! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy misses with a right hand letting Dog counter with a right hand. Dog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murphy throws out the jab. Dog takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jab by Murphy. Murphy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dog. Dog obviously looking to wear him down.
Murphy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Murphy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dog throws out the jab. Murphy misses with a straight right. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dog! But no joy. Murphy takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dog jabs Murphy to the body, keeping him at a distance. Dog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Murphy throws out the jab. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dog! But no joy. Dog ducks under a wild hook from Murphy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Murphy loads up on a big right hand but Dog slips the punch. Dog defending well as Murphy loads up on a big left hand. Murphy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Dog's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Dog moves out of range as Murphy strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog drops his hands momentarily and Murphy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Dog slips under a jab from Murphy. Dog now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Dog misses with a wild body shot. Murphy throws a lazy uppercut
and Dog cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dog tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murphy was well out of range. Poor timing from Dog. Murphy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dog. Murphy thows a left - swing and a miss! Dog blocks a jab. Murphy throws a hook but Dog avoids it easily. Dog follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. A swing and a miss from Dog. Murphy throws a hook to the side of Dog's head but Dog sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Murphy slips a straight right by Dog. Murphy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog defending well as Murphy loads up on a big left hand. Murphy misses with an uppercut
and Murphy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Murphy has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Blake Phoenix's Champion Factory in the buildup to the fight. Dog moves out of range of the strikes. Dog unleashes a big counter combination but Murphy bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Murphy misses with a straight right. Dog misses with a hook. Murphy ducked under it nicely. Mick Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Murphy counters with a straight right hand. Murphy is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Murphy slips a jab and a cross from Dog.
Dog uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Murphy. Dog cracks Murphy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Dog slips under a jab from Murphy. Murphy misses with a wild body shot. A little jabbing left from Dog on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Murphy throws a hook but Dog avoids it easily. Dog bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Murphy throws a jab but it's blocked by Dog.

enabling Dog to counter with a crisp jab. Murphy on the wrong end of a nice hook. Dog ducks under a wild hook from Murphy. Dog throws a hook to the side of Murphy's head but Murphy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dog thuds his shin into the meat of Murphy's side. Murphy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dog manages to avoid it. A big right from Dog misses. Murphy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dog counters with a crisp one two that drops Murphy! Dog thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Murphy to his feet! Murphy is in big trouble!
Murphy is rocked! Murphy throws a poor cross that misses
and Dog counters with a good, hard body kick but Murphy shrugs it off. Oh Murphy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Murphy is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dog has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dog lands on the inside with an uppercut. Dog lands a body punch. Dog lands a hook to the side of the head. Dog pulls Murphy into guard.
Dog is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog looking for a guillotine here but Murphy defends easily.
Murphy seems to have got his legs back now. Our spies down at at Sweat inform us that Dog has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Murphy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Dog is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Murphy rolls with it to try and escape but Dog cranks on the arm and Murphy is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Three Dog! Three Dog spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. The defeated Mick Murphy had this to say: 'My opponent fought the better fight tonight. I'm going to learn from this, train harder, and come back better than ever.'.
