Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Slammy Neckbreaker (ranked 606 p4p, 28 weight class) and Ian Laperierre (ranked 1212 p4p, 58 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Slammy Neckbreaker! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ian Laperierre! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laperierre tries to clinch up and Neckbreaker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've been hearing reports that Neckbreaker has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Nice sprawl there from Laperierre as Neckbreaker shoots in. Laperierre fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Neckbreaker misses with a looping left. Laperierre swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Laperierre lands a body shot.
Laperierre lands with a shot to the body. Neckbreaker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Laperierre looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neckbreaker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laperierre looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Laperierre felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Neckbreaker wants to control but Laperierre is keeping him busy. Laperierre tries to roll over but Neckbreaker keeps him under control. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Neckbreaker perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Laperierre is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Neckbreaker is tapping! Great win for Laperierre!
