Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Norman Mccoy (ranked 5818 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Venegas (ranked 3327 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Venegas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Mccoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lucas Venegas! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Venegas fails in his attempt to clinch. Mccoy misses the shot to the body. Mccoy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mccoy misses with a body punch
and Venegas counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mccoy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mccoy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Venegas fails with the takedown. Mccoy takes a kick to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mccoy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mccoy showed some decent athleticism there. Mccoy seems to be working for a kimura but Venegas defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccoy escapes and gets back to his feet. Venegas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Venegas shoots in but Mccoy avoids the takedown attempt easily. Norman Mccoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Venegas. Venegas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mccoy swivels and escapes. Venegas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mccoy.
Venegas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mccoy looks to score with a jab to the body but Venegas is just out of range. Venegas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Mccoy does no damage. Venegas tries to clinch and Mccoy counters with a head kick. Venegas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Venegas looks winded! Mccoy clinches up with Venegas and pushes him back against the cage. Mccoy avoiding damage as Venegas throws knees to the body.
Mccoy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Venegas is defending well for now. Mccoy drags the fight down to the ground.
Venegas wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mccoy's closed guard. He's half up but Mccoy has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mccoy pivots and extends the arm, Venegas falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mccoy! Well done that man!
