Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ted Cabrera (ranked 21901 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Regal (ranked 5083 p4p, 511 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ted Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Regal!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
As Regal tries to get set, Cabrera tries to push him back and clinch up but Regal manages to avoid the attempt.
Regal lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Cabrera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Regal is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Regal is trying to control Cabrera's posture but Cabrera avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cabrera has control of an arm but Regal manages to advance to Cabrera's back!
Regal keeps control of the position easily here as Cabrera tries to buck him off.
I really don't envy Cabrera right now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Regal thows a strike but Cabrera uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Cabrera as he ends up in Regal 's guard!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Regal is on top in guard.

Cabrera wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Regal is stalling in the full guard.
Regal is looking to pass into half guard but Cabrera pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cabrera is in guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cabrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Regal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Regal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Regal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cabrera tries to avoid it but Regal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cabrera to the ground. Cabrera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Regal doesn't manage to clinch there - Cabrera circles away.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Regal manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Cabrera keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Regal has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cabrera after a bit of a struggle.

Regal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Regal pushes Cabrera away with a front kick.
Cabrera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cabrera wants it to stay on the feet.
Cabrera is looking to counter with head kicks.
Regal connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cabrera momentarily.
Cabrera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Regal's waist but Regal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cabrera off to one side.
Cabrera walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Regal checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Regal dives in for a single leg takedown but Cabrera sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Regal is breathing heavily.

Regal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cabrera swivels and escapes.
Cabrera lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
William Regal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cabrera shoots for a takedown but Regal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cabrera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Regal pinned against the cage. Regal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Regal is in all sorts of trouble here.
Regal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Regal wants to hold on but Cabrera pushes him away.
Cabrera wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Regal tries to reverse the position but Cabrera maintains control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ted Cabrera will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Regal just misses with a punch to the body.
Regal tries to close the distance and clinch but Cabrera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cabrera appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Regal shoots for a takedown but Cabrera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cabrera throws a sloppy head kick and Regal moves out of range easily.

Ted Cabrera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Regal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cabrera defends well and Regal ends up having to push Cabrera into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cabrera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cabrera lands a couple of good shots and Regal has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

and Cabrera counters with a nice double leg into side control. Regal won't be happy with that.
Regal wants to get back to his feet but Cabrera is dominant here and he's now got Regal's back!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cabrera is trying to stick to Regal's back but Regal is turning into Cabrera. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cabrera's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Regal.
Cabrera seems keen to control Regal's posture.
Regal throws an elbow that misses. Cabrera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Regal's guard. Nice move by Cabrera!


Regal looking for a guillotine here but Cabrera defends easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ted Cabrera.
I think Cabrera has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
