6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carmelo Murrizzo! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sionis clinches with his opponent.
Sionis prevents the takedown attempt.
Murrizzo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sionis regains guard immediately. Sionis keeping moving, preventing Murrizzo from controlling successfully. Murrizzo tries to free his leg and advance position but Sionis is retaining full guard. Sionis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murrizzo is controlling him. Murrizzo wants to control from the top but Sionis keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sionis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Murrizzo trying to control but Sionis is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murrizzo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Murrizzo wants to control from the top but Sionis keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Murrizzo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sionis lands a big head kick that sends Murrizzo tumbling to the mat! Sionis takes a step backwards and waves Murrizzo back to his feet - he wants the finish!

That has opened up Carmelo Murrizzo's cut even more. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sionis feints a jab and as Murrizzo dips his head, Sionis unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Murrizzo right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Murrizzo falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Sionis smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Roman Sionis! During a confident post fight interview, Roman Sionis thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
