Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Esken (ranked 4975 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Harris (ranked 23685 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Harris is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Esken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris darts in and clinches Esken up against the cage.
Harris tries to pull guard but Esken won't allow it.
A nice left hand lands by Esken.
Esken lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Esken swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A nice right hand lands inside from Esken.
Harris changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Esken fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Harris looks winded!
Harris keeps the fight on the outside.
Esken tries to close the distance and clinch but Harris swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Esken backing away here, and Harris unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Esken closes the distance but Harris moves to the side

and Harris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Harris is standing up over Esken. Esken looks to escape but Harris dives into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Esken is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Harris asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Esken keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Esken wants to control but Harris postures up.
Esken is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Harris has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Harris is trying to get an arm triangle but Esken is defending well.
Esken tries to bench press Harris off him but Harris keeps the position.
Harris remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Esken tries to improve position but can't.

Harris has hold of Esken's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Esken seems comfortable defending it but Harris has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Esken is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Esken is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Harris couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marcus Harris!
During a confident post fight interview, Marcus Harris thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
