Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Taylor Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, I Just Fight And Win C! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Castro enables And Win C to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Castro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. And Win C throws a strike but Castro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And Win C is looking to stand up but Castro isn't so interested in that idea. Castro throwing strikes from guard but And Win C blocks nicely. Castro scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Castro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Castro stops And Win C from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. And Win C pushes Castro off and gets back to his feet.
And Win C fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from And Win C. And Win C swings widly with a right hand
and Castro moves into the clinch. And Win C is fighting off a takedown attempt but Castro is just too persistent for him and manages to trip And Win C to the mat. And Win C regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. And Win C is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Castro is controlling him. And Win C has momentary wrist control but Castro slips an elbow through the middle. And Win C wants to stand but Castro is controlling the position. And Win C manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. And Win C gets a trip takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! And Win C throwing shots but Castro is blocking nicely. Castro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. And Win C misses with a head shot. Castro uses the momentum to regain guard. And Win C throws a big elbow that misses. And Win C prevents Castro from getting back to his feet. Castro looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And Win C throws an elbow that misses. Castro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in And Win C's guard. Nice move by Castro!
Castro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Castro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Castro prevents And Win C from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Castro drops back looking for a leg! And Win C is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and And Win C manages to kick Castro off! Castro jumps back into And Win C's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And Win C working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Castro. Castro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as And Win C works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Castro won't allow And Win C to get back to his feet. Castro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Castro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Castro distracts And Win C with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. And Win C wants to stand and escape but Castro is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if And Win C can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And Win C lands a jab to Castro's midsection. Castro fails to land the takedown. And Win C fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Castro sprawls well initially but And Win C persists and gets the takedown into half guard. And Win C scoring with strikes to the body and head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. And Win C connects with a nice short shot to Castro's temple.
Castro is rocked! Castro tries to kick And Win C off but And Win C keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Oh Castro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Castro is breathing heavily. And Win C lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Castro! More strikes land and this one is all over! And Win C jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
