Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Glass (ranked 6571 p4p, 534 weight class) and Ima Scrapper (ranked 24134 p4p, 579 weight class). Hugh Glass has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Glass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ima Scrapper!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scrapper has closed the distance and engaged Glass in a clinch.
Glass drops down looking for an ankle pick but Scrapper pulls his leg out and moves away.
Glass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scrapper avoids it really well and circles away.
Scrapper misses with a looping left.
Glass tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scrapper was well out of range. Poor timing from Glass.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Scrapper! But no joy.
Scrapper stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scrapper wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugh Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Scrapper rushes Glass and presses him up against the cage.
Glass tries to land knees in the clinch but Scrapper avoids the damage to the body.
Scrapper is trying to break free.
Glass wants to break free but Scrapper has control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scrapper throws out a counter right but Glass avoids it with no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Scrapper closes the distance and pushes Glass back into the cage.
Scrapper misses with a knee to the head.
Scrapper tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Glass just stands there and leans against the cage.
Glass goes for a takedown attempt but Scrapper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Glass gets tackled into the cage by Scrapper. Scrapper maintains the clinch.
Glass drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Scrapper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Scrapper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Scrapper showed some decent athleticism there.
Scrapper is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scrapper is looking to advance position but Glass won't allow it.
Scrapper content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Glass manages to get to full guard.
Glass is trying to control the position but Scrapper postures up.
Scrapper connects with a couple of short punches.
Scrapper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Glass manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scrapper manages to get himself to full guard.

Glass throws a big elbow that misses.

Glass not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Scrapper looking to hit a scissor sweep but Glass is one step ahead there.
Glass passes into half guard.
Glass passes to side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Glass moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ima Scrapper dominated that round.
That's time! Glass's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Glass shoots for a double leg takedown but Scrapper sprawls well. He's pushed Glass's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Scrapper tries to counter by closing the distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Glass. Scrapper does a little dance to reset his feet.
Glass will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Glass gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Glass shoots in but no luck this time.

Scrapper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Scrapper feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Glass sprawling to the canvas! Glass rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Scrapper finish him?!


Glass is rocked!


It looks like Hugh Glass has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Scrapper clinches with his opponent.
Oh Glass is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Scrapper has Glass pressed against the cage.
Scrapper has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Glass avoids the elbow strike from Scrapper, against the cage.
Glass seems to have got his legs back now.
Scrapper leaning against his opponent.
Scrapper is trying to break the clinch but Glass is controlling him.

Scrapper manages to break the clinch.
Glass misses with a hook.
Glass shoots in for a takedown but Scrapper shows good takedown defense.
Scrapper shapes to counter with a head kick.
Scrapper throws a hook but Glass avoids it easily.

Scrapper fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Glass to the ground. Scrapper is now in Glass's guard.

Glass scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Glass.
Glass throws a head kick that half lands.
A head kick misses from Scrapper.
Glass swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Glass shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scrapper as he avoids it easily.
Glass tries to clinch but Scrapper is having none of it.
Scrapper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Scrapper is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Glass is looking to slow Scrapper down with leg kicks.
Scrapper tries to land a front kick but Glass steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Glass looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Glass fails to land the takedown.
Glass is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Scrapper moves into the clinch.
Scrapper tries to circle away but Glass has him pinned against the cage.
Scrapper is trying to pull guard but Glass turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Scrapper has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Glass escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Glass fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Glass throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scrapper's waist but Scrapper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Glass off to one side.

Scrapper misses with a knee to the head.

Scrapper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Glass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scrapper sprawls well. Scrapper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Glass gets slowly back to his feet.

Glass shoots in but Scrapper avoids the takedown attempt easily.
