Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Tonal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cory Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel has chosen Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonal throws a series of punches but Steel moves out of range.
Steel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tonal.
Tonal fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Steel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Tonal throws a series of punches but Steel avoids them all with ease.
Cory Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel scores with a hook.
Steel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Tonal dodges the punch combination from Steel.

Tonal lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steel circles away quickly and effectively.
Tonal lands with a straight right. Steel didn't see that one coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Tonal checks a leg kick.
Jab, jab by Tonal - just one landing.
Steel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steel lands in his opponent's guard.
Tonal has control of Steel's left arm, preventing Steel from doing any damage.

Steel wants to control from the top but Tonal keeps moving.
Tonal tries to land a sweep but no joy.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tonal is pulling down on Steel's head. It's preventing any offense from Steel, at least for the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Steel's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Steel thows a big elbow that misses.

Steel throws and elbow that misses. Tonal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Steel's guard. Nice move by Tonal!

Steel throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Tonal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Steel is keeping the position for now.
Tonal stopping the sweep attempt from Steel.
Steel controls Tonal momentarily but Tonal frees himself.
Tonal trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tonal controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Steel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Steel has a takedown stuffed.

Steel tries to clinch up but Tonal circles away and keeps his distance.
A big right from Steel misses.
Steel takes a jab right on the kisser.
Steel has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Steel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Steel has a takedown stuffed.
Steel blocks the body kick.
Steel drops his hands momentarily and Tonal takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Tonal trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Steel has his foot on Tonal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tonal works his way back into a safe position though.

Steel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Tonal lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Steel backs up against the cage.
Tonal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steel to the mat! Steel manages to get full guard.

Tonal is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tonal postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Steel thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Tonal controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Steel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Steel striking off his back but it's not causing Tonal any problems.
Steel has his hands on Tonal's head, controlling the position.

Tonal postures up and lands a big shot to Steel's brow.
Steel is pulling down on Tonal's head to control his posture.
Tonal preventing the sweep.
Steel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Steel has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Tonal doesn't defend quickly enough and Steel has managed to lock this one up! Can Tonal escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Steel on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Cory Steel!
