Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaspars Petrovs (ranked 2281 p4p, 272 weight class) and Blue Cup (ranked 2828 p4p, 311 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blue Cup!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cup fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Blue Cup seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cup looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We've been hearing good reports from Petrovs's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Petrovs wants to sweep here but Cup controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrovs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Cup has gone for a leg lock! Petrovs slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cup's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petrovs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cup is keeping the position for now.
Petrovs controlling from the top position.
Petrovs trying to control but Cup is working from the bottom.
Petrovs is pushing down on Cup's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cup is fighting to maintain full guard but Petrovs has managed to sneak the leg through.
Cup pushes Petrovs off and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Petrovs gets a takedown into half guard.
Cup makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A combination from Petrovs does no damage.
Cup walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Petrovs checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cup lands with an uppercut that bounces Petrovs off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Kaspars Petrovs has been cut.
Cup drops Petrovs with a big left hand and mounts him. Petrovs is in big trouble!
Petrovs is rocked!
Cup has control of Petrovs's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Petrovs regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Oh Petrovs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cup is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Petrovs is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Petrovs flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Cup anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Petrovs and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Cup slips an arm under Petrovs chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Cup has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Cup is squeezing on Petrovs like an anaconda would it's prey. Petrovs fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Blue Cup!
