Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, The Mountain!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mountain fails with the takedown

and Ayers counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Mountain wants to break the clinch but can't.

Ayers ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ayers no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ayers is adopting a defensive guard.
Ayers continues to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mountain drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ayers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mountain has Ayers in his guard.

Ayers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Mountain has momentary wrist control but Ayers slips an elbow through the middle.
Ayers cracks Mountain with a solid left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ayers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Ayers works over Mountain with some ground and pound from guard.
Ayers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ayers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ayers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mountain's head.
Ayers scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ayers makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Mountain is looking for a triangle here but Ayers uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Ayers decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Ayers shoots in and gets a takedown into Mountain's guard.
Mountain is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ayers dives into side control.
Mountain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ayers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ayers landing a few strikes.
Mountain is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ayers connects with a decent elbow.
Mountain takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Ayers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mountain, who protects the arm well.

Ayers in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Mountain is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Wilbur Ayers!
