PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hagen (ranked 6062 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perry Cox (ranked 4907 p4p, 0 weight class). Hagen comes to the cage accompanied by Thunder by Imagine Dragons. Hagen has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cox should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Hagen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cox's guard.

Cox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hagen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hagen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hagen postures up and lands a big shot to Cox's brow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hagen shoots for a takedown but Cox saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cox swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hagen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cox walks away with a smile on his face. Hagen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Perry Cox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hagen is really struggling to control Cox but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Hagen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cox is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Hagen.
I think Cox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Perry Cox spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
