Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Higor Pereira (ranked 22639 p4p, 138 weight class) and Andrey Arlovski (ranked 24552 p4p, 203 weight class). Andrey Arlovski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrey Arlovski!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arlovski buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pereira waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Arlovski.

Arlovski moves into the clinch successfully.
Pereira throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Arlovski blocks it with crossed arms.

Arlovski throws a right and a left that both miss.
Arlovski tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Pereira manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Pereira wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Pereira on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Arlovski. Arlovski obviously looking to wear him down.

Arlovski closes the distance and pushes Pereira back into the ropes.

Arlovski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pereira takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Pereira throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Pereira tries to land knees in the clinch but Arlovski avoids the damage to the body.

Arlovski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Arlovski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pereira circles away quickly and effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pereira avoids the head kick by Arlovski.

Arlovski moves into the clinch.
Arlovski lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Pereira.
Pereira has a couple of punches blocked by Arlovski.

Arlovski is working Pereira over against the ropes.
Pereira creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Arlovski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Arlovski drives through and clinches with Pereira against the ropes.
Pereira pushes off an throws an elbow but Arlovski leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.
Pereira misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Arlovski.

Arlovski lands with a left to the head.

Arlovski breaks the clinch.
Arlovski bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Arlovski tries to close the distance and clinch but Pereira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Arlovski forces Pereira back against the ropes and clinches.
Pereira misses with some punches.
Arlovski lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Pereira or not.
Pereira misses with the head strike.

Arlovski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pereira takes a swing at Arlovski's ribcage but misses.
Arlovski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pereira throws out the jab.
Arlovski tries to clinch but Pereira moves out of range.
Arlovski tries to clinch there but Pereira circles away.
Pereira was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Arlovski scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Pereira to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pereira falls off balance throwing a combination
and as Pereira looks to reset his feet, Arlovski counters with a string of precision punches, right on the button, sending Pereira crashing to the canvas! Pereira is in big trouble here! The referee has started the count but Pereira is so wobbly that the ref has given up the count at 6 - he's called the bout off! Arlovski is your winner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Andrey Arlovski!
