Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sal Bowen (ranked 4889 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Cantona (ranked 5801 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sal Bowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Cantona!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowen stuffs the takedown.
Bowen seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Cantona looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Bowen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bowen wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Cantona goes for a double leg but Bowen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bowen continues to drive forward.
Eric Cantona seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Bowen. No joy for Cantona on that attempt.
Bowen lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Sal Bowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Cantona.

Bowen shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bowen is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cantona throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bowen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Cantona shoots for a takedown but Bowen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bowen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bowen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Bowen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cantona has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bowen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cantona struggling a bit here.

Bowen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cantona shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bowen defends it nicely.
Bowen appears to be looking for a big counter.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cantona gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bowen wants to stand but Cantona has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bowen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cantona gets caught flat footed, as Bowen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Cantona lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Bowen manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Bowen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Cantona prevents it.

Bowen pulls guard effortlessly.
Bowen is adopting a defensive guard.
Cantona won't allow Bowen to sweep him here.
Cantona is breathing heavily.

Bowen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cantona's guard.


Bowen stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Bowen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cantona is looking to stand back up but Bowen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Cantona.

Cantona wants to improve his position but Bowen is controlling well.

Bowen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cantona has managed to free his arm - good work.

Bowen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cantona sees it coming and defends easily.

Bowen is working for a kimura but Cantona is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Bowen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cantona defends well and Bowen ends up having to push Cantona into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bowen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Bowen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cantona defends it well.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bowen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cantona could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Bowen has cracked it and Cantona is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Bowen!
