Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Cain Diaz (ranked 5038 p4p, 400 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 6690 p4p, 452 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cain Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a shot from downtown. Scott moves away and avoids it. A jab lands there for Scott. Diaz loads up on a big right hand but Scott slips the punch. Scott ducks under a wild hook from Diaz. Scott tries to counter with a clinch but Diaz shakes him off and moves away. Scott jabbing away but nothing is landing. Scott moves away from the strike by Diaz. Diaz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Diaz. Diaz misses with a lunging right hand
and Scott moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Diaz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Diaz is trying to push Scott away but Scott has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. A left hand lands to the body for Scott.
Scott lands a hook to the side of the head. Diaz wants to get back to striking at distance but Scott won't allow it.
I was talking to Diaz's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Diaz is looking to break free of the clinch but Scott has double underhooks. A nice right hand lands inside from Scott. A short uppercut from Scott. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scott lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Scott keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Diaz's efforts to push away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Diaz tries to break the clinch but Scott is controlling the position. Scott lands with a light punch inside. Scott lands a nice shot to the body. Diaz can't break the clinch.
Scott throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Diazs head. Scott lands an uppercut.
Diaz is rocked! Scott misses with some punches.
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Scott misses with a short punch on the inside. Diaz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Scott counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Scott prevents Diaz from breaking the clinch. Scott swings wildly with an uppercut but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it. Diaz seems to have got his legs back now. Scott scores with a hook to the body. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Scott has him pressed against the ropes. Diaz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Scott cracks Diaz with a nice body shot. Scott is leaning against Diaz and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Still in the clinch, Scott scores with a nice short uppercut. Scott lands a body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Scott lands a body punch. Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Scott. Diaz misses with a combination
and Scott counters with a right hand to the body. Diaz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Scott lands with a shot to the body. Scott moves into range and clinches up with Diaz. A body shot lands from Scott.
Scott works on Diaz's body with a couple of short punches. Scott has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Diaz seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Scott can turn it around. Scott stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Scott lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Scott pushes Diaz back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch. Scott scores with a nice hook to the head. A short right from Scott on the inside. Scott creates a bit of distance and cracks Diaz with a big uppercut! Diaz goes down! The referee pushes Scott away into a neutral corner and starts the count. 4,5,6,7. Will Diaz make it up in time? He's still flopping around all over the place! The referee has called off the fight! Scott takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Michael Scott! A relieved looking Michael Scott thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
