Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Delaney (ranked 24897 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremiah Gill (ranked 4762 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremiah Gill will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kent Delaney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeremiah Gill!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gill throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Gill closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Delaney's guard.
Gill throwing strikes but missing.

Gill stands up from Delaney's guard - Gill perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gill connects with a body shot.

Delaney has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gill manages to break the clinch.
Gill with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Jeremiah Gill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Delaney fails with the takedown
and Gill counters with a left to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gill drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Delaney is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gill dives into side control.
Gill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Delaney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Delaney is breathing heavily.

Gill is trying to get an arm triangle but Delaney is defending well.
Delaney throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Delaney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gill trying to control the position but Delaney is working away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gill avoids the strikes from the bottom by Delaney.
Delaney throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Delaney regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gill's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Gill seems to be looking for submissions.
Delaney moves into full guard.

Delaney kicks Gill off and gets to his feet.
Delaney tries for a takedown but Gill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gill moves in looking to clinch but Delaney pushes him off.
Delaney swats away the attempt to clinch by Gill.

and Delaney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gill's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gill looking for subs off his back but Delaney has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Delaney perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Gill is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Delaney pulls his head out easily.

Gill wants to control but Delaney is keeping busy.
Delaney perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Delaney scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

A close round but Jeremiah Gill will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Delaney decides to stand back up. Delaney steps back and let's Gill get back to his feet.

Gill throws a nice outside leg kick.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Delaney fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Delaney takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gill throws a leg kick which misses Delaney's front leg but catches the back leg as Delaney tries to avoid it.
Delaney circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gill is looking to clinch.
Gill tries to clinch up.
Delaney went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Gill misses with the body kick

and Delaney counters with a shoot takedown. Gill fights it but they end up in guard.
Gill has a closed guard, preventing Delaney from standing up.

Gill is breathing heavily.

Delaney is in close to Gill's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Delaney controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gill is trying to keep Delaney in close.

Delaney decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gill, up you get!

Gill closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Delaney's guard.
Delaney doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kent Delaney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gill stops Delaney from standing up.
Delaney controls Gill momentarily but Gill frees himself.
Gill trying to control but Delaney is working from the bottom.
Delaney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gill manages to get himself to full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Delaney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Gill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kent Delaney dominated that second round.
That's time! Delaney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Delaney shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gill defends it nicely.

Gill rushes Delaney and presses him up against the cage.

Gill manages to break the clinch.
Jeremiah Gill seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gill wants to clinch up but Delaney keeps it at a distance.

Delaney throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gill was covering up waiting for the punch and Delaney finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Gill is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Delaney's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Delaney shoots for a takedown but Gill saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Delaney gets back to half guard.
Gill slips a nice elbow through Delaney's hands, connecting with Delaney's forehead.
Gill is looking to take a break and control but Delaney is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Gill is working for a kimura but Delaney is defending it quite comfortably.

Gill prevents Delaney from standing back up.
Delaney throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Delaney is looking to escape.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Delaney is staying active underneath Gill, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Delaney gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Delaney wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Delaney works on Gill's body with a couple of short punches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Delaney.

Gill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Delaney sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Gill is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Delaney slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Delaney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gill for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

I would just about give that final round to Jeremiah Gill.
I think Gill has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
