Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Monroe (ranked 4975 p4p, 424 weight class) and Willis Mays (ranked 5278 p4p, 441 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Monroe ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willis Mays! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mays misses with a takedown attempt and Monroe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A jab from Mays finds it's way through Monroe 's defenses. Monroe throws a series of strikes that have Mays backpedaling.
Monroe keeps the fight on the outside. Mays fails with a takedown attempt. Monroe went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Monroe circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mays dives in for a single leg takedown but Monroe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Joe Monroe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willis Mays. Monroe misses with a few strikes there.

Mays bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mays is defended easily by Monroe . That's two minutes gone in the round. Monroe controlling from mount. Monroe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Mays tries to get back to half guard but can't. Monroe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Monroe seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mays for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monroe 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Willis Mays seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mays shoots in for a takedown but Monroe shows good takedown defense. Mays goes for a double leg but Monroe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Monroe continues to drive forward. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Monroe pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mays tumbling to the mat - Monroe dives into Mays's guard. Monroe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Monroe controlling from the top position. "I don't think so" says Monroe as he avoids it easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Willis Mays has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joe Monroe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mays gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mays is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Monroe dives into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Willis Mays comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Monroe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
