Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rory Andler (ranked 6468 p4p, 479 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 5684 p4p, 458 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rory Andler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones !
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andler tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Andler really is a fat lump.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Andler pinned against the cage. Andler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Andler misses with an attempted mid kick.
We've been told by Andler's head coaches at UnderGround Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Andler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.

Jones tries to keep at a distance but Andler has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andler pulls guard effortlessly.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Andler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Andler's legs - danger averted.

Andler looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jones has picked Andler up and slammed him! Andler can't keep hold of the triangle and Jones manages to pass to side control!

Andler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Andler has hold of Jones 's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Jones working over Andler with some ground and pound. Andler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Andler looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Jones content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones lands with a punch from half guard.
Jones is thwarting Andler's attempts to control the position.

Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Andler keeps working.

Andler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones is controlling the pace.

Andler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.

Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rory Andler will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Andler gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Andler is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well.

Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Andler's head.
Andler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Andler has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.

Jones gets to his feet. Andler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Andler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Andler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Andler is looking for a counter combo.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Andler wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.
Jones lands an elbow.
Andler holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Andler wants to control but Jones postures up.

Jones is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Andler looks calm but he's in trouble here. Jones gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Andler is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jones lets go of the hold and Andler can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jon Jones !
A determined Jon Jones didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
