Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Sanchez (ranked 6196 p4p, 273 weight class) and Taz Duncan (ranked 6446 p4p, 279 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Taz Duncan! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duncan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duncan moves into full mount! Duncan lands a heavy elbow. Duncan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sanchez is trying to escape the mount.
Duncan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sanchez is on top in guard.
Duncan seems keen to control Sanchez's posture. Sanchez wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sanchez looking to sit in guard and control but Duncan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sanchez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duncan on the ground. Duncan showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Duncan trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. Duncan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan looking to pass the guard. Sanchez controls Duncan momentarily but Duncan frees himself. Duncan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Duncan postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez is looking for a triangle but Duncan pushes his legs off easily.
Duncan stays in close to Sanchez's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Duncan pushing down on Sanchez's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duncan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sanchez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Duncan thows a huge punch but Sanchez dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sanchez is looking to control Duncan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanchez avoid being mounted? Duncan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Duncan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sanchez scores with a takedown into Duncan's guard. Sanchez postures up.
Duncan is adopting a defensive guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Duncan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taz Duncan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sanchez doesn't manage to clinch there - Duncan circles away.
Duncan throws a counter combo. Duncan gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sanchez pulls Duncan into guard.
Duncan wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sanchez managing to control the position. Sanchez is working an open guard so Duncan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duncan misses with a looping right. Sanchez tries to counter with a takedown but Duncan is quick to defend against it. Duncan tries to clinch but Sanchez moves out of range. Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Duncan throws a jab but it's blocked by Sanchez. A head kick misses from Duncan. Sanchez appears to be looking for a big counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duncan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sanchez's half guard. Duncan is figuring out what he wants to do next. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duncan connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple. Duncan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sanchez is looking to escape. Duncan blocks the strikes from Sanchez.
Duncan works his foot free and advances to mount. Sanchez wants to hold on but Duncan pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duncan tries to control but Sanchez wriggling away. Duncan controlling his opponent. Sanchez is squirming around, avoiding Duncan's attempts to control the action. Taz Duncan has got the better of the ground game so far. Duncan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sanchez can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sanchez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Duncan controlling from mount. Sanchez wants to control but Duncan is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duncan working for a submission but Sanchez is keeping him at bay. Sanchez is trying to escape the mount.
Duncan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sanchez's face.
Sanchez reaches up to try and control the position but Duncan seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Sanchez rolls and tries to escape and now Duncan has his back!
Sanchez is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duncan cracks Sanchez with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Sanchez from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Duncan working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Duncan slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Sanchez tries to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Duncan has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Sanchez is defending well but eventually Duncan manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Sanchez has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Taz Duncan!
