Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mary Saunders (ranked 24795 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johhny Mike (ranked 4541 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johhny Mike!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mike changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saunders looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Saunders is not content to let Mike control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mike decides to stand back up.

Mike has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Mike is looking to break free of the clinch but Saunders has double underhooks.

Saunders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The referee calls for Saunders to work.

Mike has Saunders pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mike pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Saunders tumbling to the mat - Mike dives into Saunders's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Saunders holds on and takes a little breather.
Saunders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mike wants to stand and escape but instead Saunders has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mike escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saunders gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mike controls Saunders momentarily but Saunders frees himself.

Saunders throws a strike but Mike rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Saunders's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Mary Saunders will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Saunders manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Mike has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Saunders works to full guard.

Mike decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saunders, up you get!

and Saunders decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mike's guard.
