Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Koah Nine (ranked 5862 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archie Clay (ranked 5170 p4p, 0 weight class). Nine has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Koah Nine has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Archie Clay! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nine shoots in but no luck this time. Nine sets himself, and Clay steps forward looking for the clinch! Nine avoids it this time. Clay scores with a nice body kick.
Nine is breathing heavily. Clay connects with an inside leg kick. Clay gets a clinch. Nine wants to take the fight to the mat but Clay manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Clay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Clay clinches up with Nine and pushes him back against the cage. Clay pushes Nine back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Clay manages to break the clinch.
Nine gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Clay gets a double leg takedown into Nine's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Clay looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Nine wants to stand and escape but Clay is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Clay slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Clay scoring with some ground and pound. Clay postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Clay trying to control the position from guard on top but Nine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Clay is working Nine over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Clay thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Clay is in close to Nine's body, working some short punches and elbows. Nine keeping moving, preventing Clay from controlling successfully. Clay scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Clay working some strikes from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nine on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nine tries to get out of the position. Clay content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Clay is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Clay is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Clay sitting in guard, not really doing much. Clay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Clay landing some decent shots from guard. Clay working some strikes from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Clay controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nine keeping moving, preventing Clay from controlling successfully. Clay is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Clay trying to control the position from guard on top but Nine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Clay controls from within his opponent's guard. Clay advances position into side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Clay lands a decent elbow from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Archie Clay dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Clay. Nine fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Clay misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nine.
Nine tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Crunch! Clay slams his shin into Nine's torso. Clay throws a body shot but no joy. Nine displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Clay. Nine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nine takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Clay lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Clay throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. That kick from Clay tenderised Nine's leg. Nine is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Clay. Koah Nine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Clay fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Nine moves away from the strike by Clay. Clay has been the more effective fighter overall so far. A good leg kick by Clay. A chopping leg kick lands by Clay. Nine is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Nice takedown defense from Nine. No joy for Clay on that attempt. Clay connects with an inside leg kick. Nine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Clay throws out the jab. Nine has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Clay. Clay misses with a straight left. As Clay looks to move away, Nine throws a big counter combo but Clay just gets out of the way. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Clay. Nine shrugs it off though. Clay lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Nine takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
This has been an exciting period of action! Both fighters circling a little - Clay finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Clay is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nine's half guard. Clay drops an elbow to the side of Nine's head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Clay connects with a nice short shot to Nine's temple. Clay takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Clay is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nine has managed to free his arm - good work. Clay seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Clay there. Clay is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nine! Clay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The referee warns Nine that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nine knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clay on the ground. Clay lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nine hang on?
Nine is rocked! Clay is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nine can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Oh Nine is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Clay is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
A big strike lands for Clay! That's really hurt Nine and he's turned his back - Clay keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Clay jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
