Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Veli Ilkka Perkules (ranked 4146 p4p, 433 weight class) and Gauthier St. Georges (ranked 430 p4p, 64 weight class). St. Georges has chosen Jiu Jitsu as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perkules has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mary Gracies Jiu Jitsu in the buildup to the fight.
St. Georges ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

It looked like Perkules wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Crunch! Perkules slams his shin into St. Georges's torso.

Perkules went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
St. Georges throws out a loose jab but Perkules uses good head movement to avoid it.
St. Georges stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
St. Georges looks to land a combination but Perkules avoids it well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

St. Georges throws a combination. Perkules tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

St. Georges throws out a loose jab but Perkules uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Perkules counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. St. Georges is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Perkules uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from St. Georges.
Perkules dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on St. Georges. That did some damage!
St. Georges has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
St. Georges throws a hook but Perkules avoids it easily.

St. Georges ducks into a a hook from Perkules and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

St. Georges misses with the combination.
St. Georges seems to have recovered his senses.

Perkules throws a low kick but it's checked well by St. Georges.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Perkules's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

St. Georges misses with a low kick.
Perkules lands a front kick to the face, that drops St. Georges to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
That has opened up Gauthier St. Georges's cut even more.
Perkules scores with a jab to the head.
Perkules looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Perkules backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks St. Georges's temple! It sends St. Georges violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Perkules celebrates and the doctors try to help St. Georges!
