Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Smith (ranked 3002 p4p, 328 weight class) and Stick Kingkong (ranked 2440 p4p, 274 weight class). Stick Kingkong has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Scott Smith's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Stick Kingkong! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith fails with a takedown attempt. Kingkong throws a counter combo. Horrible takedown attempt by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Kingkong, which made it look bad. Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kingkong defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kingkong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. Despite the aggression on Kingkong's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck for Smith with that takedown attempt. Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kingkong misses with a left hand and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kingkong makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Smith passes Kingkong's left leg - he's now in half guard. Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kingkong defends it well. Smith is controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to control. Kingkong wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Smith performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kingkong is looking to improve his position.
Kingkong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kingkong has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Kingkong's temple. Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Kingkong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kingkong defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Smith moves into full mount! Kingkong won't be happy about that! Kingkong taking shots to the head. Smith looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Smith in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith tries to control but Kingkong wriggling away. Kingkong bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kingkong swivels and escapes. Despite the aggression on Kingkong's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kingkong counters with a nice uppercut. Kingkong throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease. Kingkong misses with a double jab.
Smith appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Smith shoots and misses and Kingkong counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kingkong tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kingkong to the ground. Kingkong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kingkong but Kingkong pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kingkong is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kingkong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Stick Kingkong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith shoots for a takedown but Kingkong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kingkong misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kingkong leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kingkong is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Kingkong manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Stick Kingkong seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kingkong defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith. Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kingkong quickly recovers to half guard. Kingkong is looking to improve his position.
Smith controlling the pace. Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kingkong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kingkong bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kingkong defends well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kingkong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kingkong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Smith keeping moving, preventing Kingkong from controlling successfully. Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kingkong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kingkong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Smith controls Kingkong momentarily but Kingkong frees himself. Kingkong stands up from guard. Let's bang! Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kingkong as he avoids it easily. Kingkong is looking for the big counter here. Smith goes for a double leg but Kingkong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kingkong continues to drive forward. Kingkong unleashes a big counter combination but Smith bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Nice takedown defense from Kingkong. No joy for Smith on that attempt. Kingkong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Scott Smith has been cut. Smith misses with a takedown attempt and Kingkong counters with a stiff right hand. Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kingkong. Kingkong obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kingkong trying to control the position here. Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smith looking to sit in guard and control but Kingkong gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Smith is trying to keep Kingkong in close.

Stick Kingkong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Scott Smith's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kingkong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.
Smith looking to pass the guard. Smith works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kingkong controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Smith trying to control the action but Kingkong is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Stick Kingkong. I think Kingkong has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Stick Kingkong! Stick Kingkong opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
